I would like for this thread to be reopened for discussion. I think these guys have valid points here and the issue should be further investigated by the Developers. I for one am for the idea.

interesting but has great potential to be overpowered.
tbh I see this more as a boost to non-drone ships instead of drone ships as it will allow those ships to sacrifice a couple low slots to be able to use a full set of 5 heavys/sentries..... eg. mission raven now comes with 5 sentries with very little loss in tank.
CCP PLEASE LOOK AT MINING AGENTS MISSION %..... I want better than 60% mining missions from a mining agent =(

Well that's why the balances need to be looked into. I don't know about you, but giving up a low slot on the Raven I would be giving up either my Ballistic Control, or a Capacitor Power Relay. Both of these are a significant loss to either my DPS or Tank.

A boost to Drone Bay capacity is no longer a boost to dps. Bandwidth is now the limiting factor on drone dps, and as such, there would be no boost in firepower with drone bay expanders, just boost in flexibility and longevity (being able to carry a variety of drone types, or spares of the same type). What can be fielded is still limited by Drone Bandwidth, which should NOT be increased.

this is a compelling argument in favor of the module, i must say. - PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for *them*, that all went out the window? |

Indeed. Given this argument I can't find any problems with this module. I wouldn't use it myself. What ship do you want this for?

It would shift the balance in favor of certain non-drone ships...
Consider the dominix vs mega, both have 125 bandwidth, but the mega has exactly 125 drone bay, while the domi has loads more. The mega has to make a choice, 1 full set of ogres, or bring warriors plus what ever else, but the decision must be made before undocking... the domi can bring a full set of ogres, a full set of warriors, and have loads of space for either spares, sentries, or any type of utility drone... I don't know if many pvpers would sacrafice a low for that flexability, but I suspect a lot of mission runners would love to be able to kill tacklers with light drones and then switch to ogres for the rest of the mission..
So your right, no ship would have an increase in peak effeciancy, but this would add considerable flexability, which is something that should be considered in balancing. ç¦ |

they already exist in the database they were just never seeded... would be nice though =P
IIRC it reduced your cargo hold by a %age and increased your drone bay by half of that or something along those lines... Alot of cool things like that were never released.

id use it on my pilgrim would let me have 2 flights of hammerheads flight of warriors flight of medium ecm drones and a flight of neut drones (very good for in gangs)

Maybe make rigs out of it, three versions adding 25, 50 and 125 m3, costing 50, 100 and 250 calibration, penalizing cargo bay capacity. Just as a alternative option should a module deemed to be 'too easy'.

I don't necessarily agree that drone bandwidth should never ever be expandable, but doing so should be bloody expensive, as in a rig.
Apart from that, being able to carry spare drones is highly attractive, and there could be all sorts of options for that, including modules that give extra drone bay capacity coupled with some ships having role boni that make such drone-bay-boosting modules twice as efficient. Such bonuses should primarily (or exclusively) be on Gallentean ships.
