A science and industry capital ship ! , with production and lab slots inside ! and a shop inside, so peeps docking in and deambulating could buy stuff !
more seriously, will there be shops in stations when deambulation will be implemented ?

I'm loving the idea of T2 Battleship Flagships a LOT tbh. Its the way it should be, it even intrinsically seems to make 'sense'. Having an Admiral in a battlecruiser instead of a battleship just doesnt feel right. For a truly large task force, a battleship is what must be required.

T2 pod with flash-bang-smoke bomb causing the overviews around the grid to blank for some seconds. Spy ship for hacking fleet links, retrieving fragments of hostile convos, NPC intel, planting viruses, converting hostile drones, sabotaging... Inflatable dreads and carriers for simulating activity :)

I like the idea of an ECM battlecruiser. Maybe it's role could be expanded to a broader support function, but the idea is intriguing.
The other idea I had propositioned before myself in a different forum, but that was the idea of a 'fleet cloaking' ship, although I like the idea of ensuring that the cloaking ship itself remains visible. This would help ensure that a 'fleet cloak' would not be overpowered.

hmm.. i guess not doable.. but anyways..
A Carrier type ship, but instead of figther drones... it should be small player piloted ships.
- No fittingslots, a set DPS wich scales with skills. - Can only dock in said Carrier - Cant use warpgates/cyno, cant warp - If the ship gets too far from the carrier(off-grid) the ship deactivates, until carrier is close again, the pilot could also eject in a pod. - Should be max 20-50 ships, in space at once. - If you dock for repairs, it is a small timer before you can undock in a figther again. - The main tank of these vessels would be speed and size, should have some insane turning capability aswell. - Mechanics of giving out these kinds of ships to a pilot, would be to have the pilots dock in carrier with pods, and then traded/given a ship. - It is of outmost importance, that you dont watch too much Battlestar Galactica. :P

I would like to see something like the Ion Frigates from the Homeworld Series in EVE. Basically Ship Hulls build around a single oversized weapon System.
Imagine a Cruiser with one Weapon Slot for a XL Type Weapon with some very powerful damage Bonuses for such a weapon and nearly no defences.

Well, since we're all talking out our asses here I'll throw my own comments in
1) Smartbomb anti-blob battleship. Would be fairly mobile and have bonuses to smartbomb range and damage. Would have extra resists to a particular (race-specific) damage type to support deploying more than one in the same area.
2) Anti-capital battleship. Would be able to fit capital-class weaponry, but at the cost of having very low sensor strength & sensor resolution. Basically a cheap dread that can't siege, can't jump, but can use stargates. Might help to reduce the deadlock that cynojammers have created out in large portions of 0.0, as well as reduce the tendency toward "Capitals Online"
3) Anti-cloak destroyer. Can see cloaked ships on the directional scanner, can fit a scripted module that consumes fuel to either emit a 'decloaking' ping every few minutes that decloaks everyone in the system, or allows them to see cloaked ships on overview.
4) Dedicated salvage destroyer. Has bonuses to tractor beams and salvagers, and can fit a new type of probe launcher than can find wrecks so long as they're not cloaked by a deadspace.
5) T2 Titan. Would essentially function as a mobile POS, complete with an aoe shield that would protect all ships within it and a siege module that turn the Titan into a control tower - as long as it was sieged it wouldn't disappear (even if the pilot logs off), the shield would be active, PG / CPU would be vastly increased, and POS structures could be anchored around the Titan (they would go offline if the Titan unsieges), though while sieges it's own guns, DDD, and jump bridge would still function as normal.
6) Covert logistics vessel. Basically, a Jump Freighter that can jump to covert cynos.
Of course, with Ambulation finally looking to be coming sometime soon (by soon I mean next year), who knows what new possibilities (and ships, and ground vehicles, and Cylon Centurions) will come along with it? ---

What I'd like to see:
- anti-cloakers T2 frigs
- A second tier of heavy interdictors. With bubbles than doesn't scramble you, but cut off MWD immediately. Death to nano***s.
- mini-freighters (CCP already confirmed them)
- BS-sized logistic ships. Because there's a wide gap between logistic cruisers and carriers.
What I wouldn't like to see:
- "front line" dreads. capital fleets are already hard enough to kill as it is, a pack of those ships would murder any BS fleet and above. ------------------------------------------

Edited by: Kristoffer on 23/09/2008 14:50:47 A) Strip all fighters off carriers. B) Allow players to dock in their combat ships with the carriers. B) Change the fighter bonus and native carrier bonus to additional ship docked per level bonus, allowing a level 5 / fighters 5 carrier to dock 10 ships. Rewrite the description of the DCU and make it allow for +1 ship to dock per DCU. C) Dronebay + ship maint hangar = Player Ship Hangar D) Allow the carrier to jump all docked players in their ships directly into combat.
F) Introduce slow "Capital Hunter" battleships with XL guns. These should be decimated by normal battleships, but should be devestating to capitals. Increases the rocks paper sissors aspect of a fleet fight. Do your battleships engage the enemy cap killers or the enemy battleships?
Yeah.

What I would like to see
A Badger Mk III and an additional Amarrian Transport. The Minmatar have 3 and the Gallente have 5.
A variant of the T2 racial mining cruisers (Osprey, Vexor*, Scythe, & Arbitrator*) that is for mining; has more defenses than a Hulk, decent cargo capacity (1000-1500 m3). 2-3 of them should be something any single HAC pilot would be wary of.
The Flagship as a T2 Battleship able to use a large number of command modules.
*Would be able to deploy a large number of mining drones and provides significant bonuses to those drones to make it compete with the other classes. Possibly decreased bandwidth on the mining drones and +1 mining drone per level.

Two new tiers of Industrial Ships that actually ARE Industrial Ships instead of Haulers.
First one about the Size of a Current Industrial, has the ability to fit Ammunition / Module Manufacturing Lines.
Second one about the Size of a Freighter with the ability to fit Manufacturing Lines for Objects up to Cruiser Size.
Battleships and Above will still need Fixed Facilities (NPC Stations / POS Facilities)

Ships I'd like to see:
T2 Salvager, based on a Battlecruiser Hull Minmatar version 8 high 4 medium 6 low Base Cargo 2000m3 10% per skill lv bonus to salvage success chance 25% per skill lv bonus to Tractor Beam range and speed. 25% per skill lv bonus to afterburner speed bonus (If CCP preferes one ship rather than three, the success bonus could be applied to Hacking and Archeology too)
=================================== T2 Q-ship Based on a Battlecruiser Hull
Special ability: Fit Q-ship Module of their own race.
Q-ship Module Each Race will have a seperate Q-ship module for each of its Industry ships and Transports.... .....so the Amarr and Caldari would have 4, the Minmatar 5, and the Gallente would have 7 seperaye modules. For example, the Gallente would have a Module named "Q-ship Module: Occator" Thus, a Gallente Q-ship, fitted with that module, when the module was active, would look like, and scan as, an Occator.
The Q-ship module could be turned off by choice, and is automatically turned off when the Q-ship commits aggression (so a Q-ship could target, and even scan with the disguise up, but as soon as it activated it's webs and scramblers (and guns), its disguise would drop....)
Furthermore, when FITTING a Q-ship, you would fit the actually used modules, including the Q-ship module, on the Battlecruiser based hull. But you also get a SECOND fitting screen, where you would "fit" the ship you are disguised as. The 2nd set of modules don't do anything except show up on results when someone scans your modules.
Edit: as an added option, all races Q-ships could fit the six "ORE" Q-ship modules (so they could look like Hulks, Covetors, etc...)
(.....so, if 8 Q-ships disguise themselves as a low sec mining op, and get jumped, the attackers would in effect be attacking 8 COMMAND SHIPS that dont get any bonuses for gang modules.......) Play nice while you butcher each other.

I'm surprised that the Death Star has not come up yet.
So here's my proposal: the Death Star, costing ONE MILLION DOLLARS ... errr i mention 100 trillion isk, takes 10 times longer than a titan to built, but with 10 times the HP and launches a projectile with a AOE like the DDD.
That should keep the large alliance busy for a while.

The main problem with anti-capital battleships, armed with XL weapons, is that it could very easily obsolete normal battleships in fleets. For that matter, the "juggernaught" idea, dreads able to be effective without siege mode, has the same issue.
...Unless...
Here's an idea: make those specialised XL weapons battleships with lots of firepower, like double the one of a normal BS, but with a ridiculously low sig resolution, like 10, only BS-like lock range, and without any mid slot. All of them would have to armor tank, but even the caldari one would have 7 or 8 lows. And they'd have a big role bonus to cover for for Xl racial differences. Amarr and gallente would have cap usage reduction, minmatar and caldari would have a citadel torpedo velocity one.
That way, the locking time will make them nearly useless against anything non-capital, unless they get remote-sensor boosted, but then you only have to kill the boosters, which for a fleet shouldn't take to long. ------------------------------------------

Armor tanking is almost always preferable for PvP, because it gives someone the option of fitting EWar AND having an actual tank. T2 capital turrets that focus on anti-capital duties are far preferable IMHO to adding a whole new ship class (or classes) for that role.

I honestly see no need for new ships of any kind as the ones that were created have absolutly little value in game. Rorqual, great ship, good idea but of little value,as it is nothing more than a large target in low sec unless operated inside a pos.Yes if in a secure area owned by an alliance or strong corp it is a very nice addition to game play.Sadly that is not the case for all so it has deminished the ships popularity. Ore compression was a brilliant idea, but one that never caught on in the empire market as becasue the ship was restricted to low sec ,many players have never experienced its true value. Also the rule changes about what can be hauled in certain class ships has taken away some of the brighter aspects of game play. In war time many different classes of ships were used to haul troops supplies vehicles etc etc. Prime example for history buffs was the lusitania hauling secret shipments of ammunition for great britain in world war one.I think my point is this, eve is a great game,or was till ccp started catering to the loud voices of the minorities, without pointing fingers as its not that important now. Neccessity is and has always been the mother of invention, i guess what im trying to say is there is no need for new ships for as soon as they are introduced into game thier original purpose will be modified, and therefore they will be as useless as if they had no purpose to begin with. Wouldnt it be nice to fly a raven with its own distinctive design and then work up to a navy raven with its own distinct features and as you got richer and more skilled work up to a golem! But alas all you get is the same ship with a different description, diminished abilities ,and in time nerfed so bad you were better off with the original raven. But i am like the rest i like new exciting ships in game but if ccp creates them try new designs, create them for a specific purpose, but always keep in mind that they should and can beused for other things. Get rid of the stupid bans on cargo ships carrying military ships and the other senless changes that were made to satisfy the few. Clean up eve of all the wonderful ideas that nolonger serve a purpose, elite drone ai chips, named ships dropping dna, ok so maybe in the long run they will serve a purpose but untill then get the clutter out of the game.Make the wonderful things you have created work. Then create new ships, but always with the idea in mind that they will serve a purpose whether the player is a pvper a miner or mission runner, and so that many can be satisfied new designs wouldnt hurt, dont say you cant because you have already done it with the hyperion and the rohk. The tier 2 battlecruisers could have a T2 equivelent of a command ship mixed with recon ship.
eg. command ships are like pimped up hacs, so there could be a new class of battlecruiser hulled ships that are pimped up recon ships with EW capabilties and a weaker varient that can warp cloaked. Like a battlecruiser sized curse or pilgrim.
