So I've got ISK to burn so I put together a faction fit CNR and am looking for opinions. It is within my budget as I have spent the past few weeks tracking down the reasonable prices and what not for the mods. The end result is roughly the same tank, but double the DPS output of my current setup of a T2 XL perma tank with 7x Arby's. Here is the rough setup:
Highs: 7x Caldari Navy Cruise Launchers 1x Whatever (Typically a Drone Link or Tractor depending)
Mids: 1x Pith B-Type Large Booster 2x Caldari Navy Boost Amps 2x Caldari Navy Invul fields for Omni tank, adjust per mission with other hardners 1x Cap Recharger II
Lows: 4x Caldari Navy BCS 1x Cap Flux Coil II
Rigs: 3x CCC I's
Drones: 5x T2 Mediums 5x T2 Lights
Booster is roughly 18 minutes running and if I feather it or an Invul it is basically Cap stable. DPS with standard cruises and drones is roughly 600, faction ammo puts it over 700. The EFT "general tank" is 600 which is only 23 less then the XL T2 fitted tank I had.
So... thoughts? I figure it is roughly a 1.5Bil setup.

Used the same setup, except I used an A-Type booster. It will work for your missions.
Sold my faction tank later and is now using 2 x Pithi B-Type Small Shield Booster and a mix of hardeners and SBA depends on missions, works equally good using specifics really... Got plans for a Pithum A/B/C-Type Medium Shield Booster later on.
But that will work fine, I dropped the 4th BCU too perma it thou ^^ ------------

The best part about those CNR/Golem threads is the fact it gives you a nice list of new potential targets

Cheapest A-Type I could find was 4 times the cost of the B-Type. I looked at the Gist stuff, but decided to walk down this path. I do have a PDU II in the cargo to hit that cap stable point. The 4th BCS was still another 30 DPS so for most missions its fine. I can use the Invuls and Boost Amps to go back to the XL setup if I need the extra tank, for less DPS.
I've gotten into the habit of carrying faction and standard missiles. I use the faction stuff for anything over 500k bounty and the standard for anything under 500k. Seems a waste to toss Navy at something that only takes 1-2 salvos to blow out of the water.

wait, two caldari navy amps? kinda overkill, especially with the stack penalty...probably better if u use another hardener or cap recharger.

Same principal as using 2-3 damage mods. The Large boosters work because of the faster cycle time so double boosting them is pretty much standard.
Here is the numbers: Pith B-Type is 288/3.2 seconds or 90/second Single Booster is 396/3.2 seconds 123.75/second (+33.75) Double Booster is 525/3.2 seconds 164/second (+41) Triple Booster is 638/3.2 seconds 199/second (+33) Quad Booster is stupid. You lose out on a resistance mod but for number crunching: 705/3.2 seconds 220/second (+21)
You actually get a bigger boost from the second amp over the first, then the stacking penalty hits you.

Well I only have a Raven but a CNR would have both a better thank and give more dps with the setup I use now. It works quite well so far but for my ship the tank is about 660dps give or take a few sustained.
High Slots - 6 * 'Arbalest' Cruise Launcher I (7 for the CNR) 1 * Tractor beam (This is always useful for grabbing those cans)
Mid Slots - 2 * Pithi B-Type Small Shield Booster (They cost 60m together) 4 * Mission specific hardeners T2
Low Slots - 4 * Ballistic Control unit II 1 * Damage Control unit II (I have no need for a pdu or anything, and this gives an extra 100 dps to my tank so it is well worth having there besides something else.
Rigs - 3 * Capacitor Control Circuit I
With my cap skills and the three CCC rigs this will run perma and dish out a tad over 400 dps on a Raven, it gives out more than 500 if you include 5 T2 Hammerheads. I have only had to warp out once so far but I really messed the agro up on a mission. As far as cheaper setups go this is one of the best in my opinion, cost less than 220m to put the whole thing together so its not really a suicide ganking target. I do doubt whether it could tank something like the bonus room in Angel Extravaganza but this works.
