No, seriously. Typing in English really does help. All those mean English teachers you had to deal with really weren't ****ing around when they said that using periods and decentish grammar made you sound more intelligent and made your messages readable.

Seriously? Can I ask you where grammar is every time you may of gotten pod killed? Sure, grammar can help when you are: Scamming, talking your way into a corp, or even making a joke. If you cant understand what death is saying, maybe you have spent too long working out how best to troll his post then to read what he's saying? Maybe I'm just incredibly good at deciphering alien languages but I can understand exactly what he's saying, and it didn't hurt me a bit. Death is sharing his idea, and we should respect him for that, maybe when you stop being a grammar troll you can contribute to the game community too? Maybe not?
Anyway, that is completley off topic and I suggest next time you want to give some feedback on someones grammar you do it via PM.
So to be back ON topic: It's a good idea but I believe it would make this game much like your generic MMO game, and I think CCP have tried there best to make a game much different from many MMO game's around.

I would love to be able to land on planets and interact with them *cough*ambulation*cough*.
BUT I would restrict it to "eyecandy".
for example alliances would be able to "colonize" a planet which of course would need resources to survive (just like Outposts or POS).
these supplies would dictate the health of the colony. So if you didn't bring them enough food and other goods they colony would decay, people would get ill and starve to death for example. A wealthy and well supplied colony would on the other hand would become bigger and more shiny and as a little bonus to this, drop profit for that alliance.
of course every alliance would be limited to a certain amount of colonies across eve and they have to have a certain amount of members to maintain the colonies (1 man alliances shouldn't have one to make profit).
well, you get the drift :P

i just lost the game :( - PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for *them*, that all went out the window? |

The OP has been cleaned up quite a bit since the first post, and no it was not readable when Kahega posted that.

Agree. While I would love to be able to walk around some of these worlds, personally I doubt EVE would survive very long if they jumped the shark by adding a land based game on top of it.
Just a simple example of some of the problems I see with it. I land on a planet and go for a walk-about, while I am gone, you blow my ship up. How do I get off this rock?
Another problem area. Again I land on a planet to go walk-about, while I am there a giant grue comes up and kills me. I clone jump back to empire, but what about my ship?

The very best way to add planets to EVE would be to do it a bit like Freelancer did...
A simple interface that gave you access to certain areas of the main settlement and services.
With ambulation this could be so nicely done, if the vids on youtube are an accurate yardstick for the ingame experience the ambulation patch will bring.
