What is it?
Bitter Sea Trading is a cross-platform (Android, iOS, Web) tool designed to make it easy for you to manage your account activity from anywhere. Whether you want to keep an eye on your market orders, setup an alert via text message for when something expires, or just want to keep an eye on your revenue stream.
Features
Alerting Setup an alert to be sent to you via email, SMS, push or HTTP post for any possible trigger, such as when a buy order expires or the median price of an item in Jita drops below a set threshold.
Asset Management Want to figure out the bigger picture and calculate your total net worth based on your assets? We let you do that.
Contracts Overview Description pending.
Dashboard Widgets Configure your dashboard the way you want it, we're hoping to bring in a number of third party services in this area as well.
Item Database Retrieve information on a specific item, as well as retrieving order and price metrics using a combination of the static dump and Eve-Central API data.
Jump Planner Fairly self-explanatory, plan your jumps.
Market Orders Search, filter and sort your buy and sell orders. Keep an eye on what you're doing and if needed, hook it in our alerting system.
Reports I'll be expanding on this section later, but the reporting view is what lets you calculate your net worth, your profit (via either FIFO or weighted average), create sexy graphs for damn near anything and create reports based on the data we hold for you.
Trade Discovery Description pending.
Transaction Overview Keep an eye on your transaction history, as well as keeping an eye on your total and daily revenue.
What does it cost?
Absolutely nothing. There is no ISK charge to use the service and there are no adverts. I generate absolutely zero revenue from the service and do not solicit donations either. You're more than welcome to send some ISK, but don't feel obligated.
How do I get it?
The web version is currently in public preview, the mobile version is currently in closed testing and will be available in the near future. If you want to get started, simply register an account at the below URL.
Just so you're aware, this is the live in-development version and will change close to every hour over the next week or so.
http://app.bitterseatrading.com/register
* Yes, the registration page needs to make it clear on what API access BST needs, and to have a link to a pre-defined key.
Screenshots
Most of these screenshots are of views that have greatly changed since they were taken, but they might help to give you a rough understanding of the overall system.
Hmm registered quickly last night and only just gotten around to looking at it. Can't work out how to get it to pull API data in (it's just showing blank tables at the moment)[/quote
It should do this once you register. Did the API key you create have the necessary security settings, and did you correctly select whether it was a character or corporation key
Edit I've taken a quick look at the logs and the API is returning the following error
105 - Invalid characterID.
Looking in to the reasons for this at the moment. |

Edit Fixed! Should now work fine. Great stuff ^^ works like a charm now
Good!
The issue in question is that your API key was for all characters, not one - I failed to take this in to account and didn't store the correct character ID. This is now done :). |

I do not use the "main" corporate wallet for market activity. I actually use wallet #3, titled "Market", for that. The other wallets are equally designated for specific purposes, few of which involve transactions. I believe your app is not pulling, or displaying, transaction data from all wallets. If it is pulling the data, I can not seem to figure out how to get it to display other wallets.

Feature Release
Alerts are now live! Well, kind of. You can now create an alert to notify you via email or SMS when one or any of your market orders happens to expire. There's an activation process to receive notifications via SMS, we'd like to make sure you own the phone number in question.
A similar activation process will soon be present on registration for email addresses, which will be what email alerts are sent to. For now, you can enter what email to have them sent.
Other alert types (wallet threshold, new transaction, job finished, e.t.c) will be coming at some point this evening.
Alert triggers are checked every 30 minutes (and alerts sent at this time). |

Assets Tracked 66,276
Cumulative Balance 866,765,762,122.96 ISK

A new feature is currently in testing, market campaigns! Campaigner will allow you to create a campaign, either buy assigning item types or specific buy/sell orders, start and end points - and will present you with a breakdown of everything that occurred during this point.
You'll get to see a list of what you lost in fees, what you spent, the actual profit you earned - and a lot more. Sexy graphs an optional feature. This is currently working with some bugs, but I'm focusing on it over the production discovery tool at the moment due to my brain derping on recursive material requirements. |

I've now added a "please wait" overlay to pages that call in external content, which is to say... most of them. It'll save you looking at a blank screen of market orders or assets and wondering whether it's broken horribly.
Now, there's currently a bug where the "loading" overlay on the overview panel will hang. If it hangs for more than 10 seconds, please refresh the page - I'm working on implementing a better (well, one full stop) timeout failover at the moment. |

This is currently in progress, well - a few things are, I'll try to break them down.
- Profit calculation using FIFO and weighted average methods.
Market order campaigns, you specify a start date, an end date and either assign orders or item types. It'll then give you a breakdown or what you spent, what you made, any fees paid, etc.
Stock management and accounting, which is quite similar to what you specified above.
I'm hoping to have 1 and 2 out within the next day or two, it would of been sooner but I encountered some problems in my calculations, which seem to be working far better now. Stock management should be in by the weekend. |

Features
Alerts and notification service, setup a trigger to alert you via email or SMS when an order expires or a price threshold is breached.
Asset tracking and management.
Contracts tracking.
Industry jobs tracking.
Journal and transaction history.
Market orders overview.
Panels and widgets.
Reports and analytics suite.
Tools, such as an Ore Refinery Calculator.
Roadmap
Ability to alias location names, such as Jita 4-4. (17th April)
Allow multiple characters under a single account. (16th April)
Automated profit calculation (14th - 15th April).

In order to prevent us from hitting the API at a ridiculous rate, this feature is only enabled for active alert users.
The alert system is currently updated on a rolling five minute basis (though we respect the API cache timer, so we only run our normal checks if the data is "fresh"). |

I have just noticed quite a serious bug with the alerting system, the first time you set it up - it will alert you on any order that has expired, as well as those that /will/ expire. 279 alerts have erroneously gone out as a result of this.
I am rewriting the alerts system right now in order to prevent this from happening again. |

Hi Tradelita,
I've run your NAV calculation manually, and it seems that the giant jump in net worth is based on the value of your assets.
Taking a closer look, Eve Central is returning the value of a blueprint that you own four of... as 13.2B a piece, as opposed to 13.2M a piece. This should rectify itself in time :-).

1. Ability to select either Eve Central or Eve Marketeer to retrieve pricing results from. 2. Consumption of all real-time data from 3rd party market sites in order to have a fallback system if an API dies. 3. Moving to the EMDR consumption system. I'll explain more later. o/ |

- Kou. Thank you. Is there a way to see what prices are being assigned to things in the asset view? I couldn't seem to find it. Also, sorting by price in orders seems to be a bit wonky. Looking forward to seeing this app progress. Keep up the good work!
I'll look in to adding pricing to the asset overview. In terms of sorting by price, yeah - it seems to fall over when the commas are present! Trying to figure out how to get around this :). |

As per popular request, Bitter Sea now allows you to import additional API details in order to manage multiple characters. It's currently incomplete, but you'll be able to see your imported characters on the following pages.
/market /journal /transactions
I'll be working on adding it to other pages in the near future. If you experience any issues (and you probably will), please email me via and I'll take a look for you. I'll be adding a new widget today for "merged" accounts, a cumulative balance panel, a cumulative market orders panel, and a cumulative... well, you get the idea.
Edit: To import a character, just go to the settings page. |

The escrow on the page has been in the 1.3b range for quite a while now and I've been below 1bil for a few days. I think it's only just now back up to 1bil.
Eve marketeer claims my assets at 3,560,939,095, not 5.3b. Not sure which is correct, but just letting you know.
Your site has been claiming 8b in sell orders for a while now also. The last few days EveMentat has had me under 6bil. While I can't be fore sure because of corp sell orders, my guess is Mentat is the correct one.
I'm at work. I can get you my API stuff, but I won't be able to get you exact numbers until I get home as these are mostly from memory.
Also, I only have access to the NAV the ore calculator. It says I don't have access to any widgets, which makes the site nearly useless to me. Is there something I'm missing?
P.S. I do SQL/Reports/C# for a living. While I only work with MS-SQL, other SQL engines are mostly dialect differences.
Odd, the escrow cache should have cleared by now - I'll take a look in to this.
Pricing information is based on Eve Central currently. So we're going by what they report back to us.
8B in sell orders? What display is showing this? Mentat isn't necessarily the correct one, but I'll take a look - we go by what the API reports back to us.
And widgets are not the main focus of the site, widgets are just some panels that give you quick access to what you already have access to. If you can get me your username, I'll take a look once I'm home tonight. |

I didnt get the email you claimed to have sent me, and i havnt seen the prototype yet for the website. Its starting to seem very suspsect. Could you clear this up please, because its starting to seem more and more like you've scammed me out of 2 billion isk.
For the record, 2B ISK is a rather trivial sum of ISK. I have yet to send an in-game mail as I've been a bit too busy, I got home at 2am this morning following a short extended trip away from home. I'm more than happy to supply screenshots and copies of mail headers showing exactly when messages were sent.
I'm currently working on BST, the new system for eve-kill.net and a number of other things. Trust me when I say that you'd have to add a couple of 0's on to the end of that 2B to even make it appealing. I'm going to have breakfast now, I'll send an in-game mail after. |

The next major development release is set for one week from today, and will have the following features enabled.
+ Asset overview pricing. (We currently show the overall value of your assets in the NAV calculator, we'll now let you see it on a case by case basis.)
+ Data query tool sitting on top of all the market orders we pull in from 3rd parties, build your own queries. (Want to run a really odd query on either your own, or all market data? You can do so!)
+ Highly available market pricing API. (We're currently consuming market order information from a number of 3rd party sources in as close to real-time as possible, we'll be providing lots of sexy aggregate data as a result.)
+ Many new widgets.
+ Mining operation management. (Run a mining operation? We'll simplify the management process of it for you.)
+ Production management. (We've posted about this previously, it's a handy tool!)
+ Profit/loss forecasting and margin data. (I finally have the calculations and graphing working as intended, just needs a bit more testing.)
+ Shared corporation mode. ([i]Want to allow certain people in your corporation access to details on the status of industry jobs or market orders? Or for production and mining operations? We're adding this feature in, and it's our favorite one!)
+ Stock control. ([i]Want to make sure you always have {n} of a specific item in {x}? We're adding this in, as well as adding it to our list of alerts.) |
