Bitter Sea Trading now has a sexy ore refining calculator as part of our mining management addon. This will be going live to users during downtime tomorrow along with a wide range of new features.
Shar, you'll get a wall of text tomorrow in this thread at around 10am game time :-).

As someone has already pointed out, yes, it will tell you the total value of the ore if you sold it as well. In the example above, sell the damn Trit. |

The refining calculator is now live, simply visit the link below if you're logged in.
http://app.bitterseatrading.com/tools/refinery
There is currently no validation on entered data, so if you don't enter valid information - expect something to break. Validation will be in place within the next hour or two.
For people who don't have an account but want to know what it looks like, check out the below screenshot.

You can now give feedback and suggestions directly from the app via the widget at the bottom right of the screen. People wishing to give feedback whilst not logged in can go directly to the following URL.
http://bittersea.uservoice.com
You should be able to visit http://feedback.bitterseatrading.com - but well, propogation and all that. Single sign-on is currently being implemented, so if you're not happy with logging in via your email or Facebook, that's fine - just wait a few hours :). |

I thought I'd put some figures out there so people can see the sort of data that Bitter Sea is dealing with. I'll be putting out these figures on a weekly basis, starting today - it will be a cumulative total, so we'll count these figures as the start point.
Active Accounts 521
Assets Tracked 66,276
Cumulative Balance 866,765,762,122.96 ISK
Industry Jobs Tracked 23,270
Orders Tracked 42,835
Transactions Tracked 238,777 |

A new feature is currently in testing, market campaigns! Campaigner will allow you to create a campaign, either buy assigning item types or specific buy/sell orders, start and end points - and will present you with a breakdown of everything that occurred during this point.
You'll get to see a list of what you lost in fees, what you spent, the actual profit you earned - and a lot more. Sexy graphs an optional feature. This is currently working with some bugs, but I'm focusing on it over the production discovery tool at the moment due to my brain derping on recursive material requirements. |

Ah, something small..
Could you put figures. like ISK to be right aligned.
Currently like this: 96,151.66 ISK 60,170 ISK 1,421,456.08 ISK
Its makes it difficult to see through the figures. Perhaps thats just me, but i think its easier if it were right aligned, and 2 decimal places.
......96,151.66 ISK ......60,170.00 ISK (Added Decimal .00) 1,421,456.08 ISK
I think this is great work you have done thus far. so two thumbs up!! :) |

This should now be in, let me know if I missed anything. I also finally increased the length of time that the site will actually remember you, at which point I realized I should probably add a "log out" option... |

I've now added a "please wait" overlay to pages that call in external content, which is to say... most of them. It'll save you looking at a blank screen of market orders or assets and wondering whether it's broken horribly.
Now, there's currently a bug where the "loading" overlay on the overview panel will hang. If it hangs for more than 10 seconds, please refresh the page - I'm working on implementing a better (well, one full stop) timeout failover at the moment. |

A simple trading/profit a loss account. 1) open accounting period, records assets as stock level. 2) close accounting period, uses assets as closing stock, 3) Calculate Gross Profit = open stock + purchases in period, - closing stock. 4) Calculate Net Profit = Gross Profit - expenses (Rents, Fees, etc.) 5) use closing stock value as opening stock of next accounting period. |

This is currently in progress, well - a few things are, I'll try to break them down.
- Profit calculation using FIFO and weighted average methods.
Market order campaigns, you specify a start date, an end date and either assign orders or item types. It'll then give you a breakdown or what you spent, what you made, any fees paid, etc.
Stock management and accounting, which is quite similar to what you specified above.
I'm hoping to have 1 and 2 out within the next day or two, it would of been sooner but I encountered some problems in my calculations, which seem to be working far better now. Stock management should be in by the weekend. |

Yea, i think you did miss something. Its cool now cause it is right aligned, but i would keep the apostrophes in.

Is easier to read like this, 999'999'999.99 or 999 999 999.99 Know what i mean?

We're now out of public preview and are in general release. Whilst there are still some bugs outstanding, I'm happy with where the platform is currently at.
Features
Alerts and notification service, setup a trigger to alert you via email or SMS when an order expires or a price threshold is breached.
Asset tracking and management.
Contracts tracking.
Industry jobs tracking.
Journal and transaction history.
Market orders overview.
Panels and widgets.
Reports and analytics suite.
Tools, such as an Ore Refinery Calculator.
Roadmap
Ability to alias location names, such as Jita 4-4. (17th April)
Allow multiple characters under a single account. (16th April)
Automated profit calculation (14th - 15th April).
Notifications via Twitter and XMPP. (17th April)
Production discovery tool, what's profitable to make? (16th April)
Query all data stored relating to your account. (15th April)
Trade discovery tool, find profitable trade routes with ease. (17th April)
Known Issues
Asset management currently does not look in to containers, fittings, etc. As a result of this, NAV calculation is also out (due to not accounting for these items).
Transactions and orders sometimes duplicate, this is an extremely rare occurrence. This is fixed at 1AM GMT every day.
Current Metrics
Quote:Active Accounts: 915 Assets Tracked: 261,984 Contracts Tracked: 5651 Cumulative Balance: 1,479,668,597,894.40 ISK Journal Entries: 35,385 Orders Tracked: 87,232 Transactions Tracked: 204,089 Feedback
For general comments and bug reports, drop an email to [email protected] and I'll be in touch as soon as possible. For feature requests and suggestions, please use the ideas board available over at http://bittersea.uservoice.com/ - I keep a fairly active eye on it. |

Doesn't it worry anyone that this guy ran a scam when he was last in game.
Wasn't just leaving game for baby. Before any RL events he tried to change tack, start votes to avoid paying divs. When he claimed RL stuff he apparently found time to do other stuff with his ALTs, got called out, didn't answer and then quit.

I came back after a three year hiatus, paid back quite a lot of ISK and now enjoy playing the game. If having to take a step back from the game is considered scamming, so be it - your concerns have been noted, you are not forced to use this tool.
And wait, I found time to do stuff with my alts? That's news to me. Could I possibly borrow your tinfoil hat?
Edit: Following up on this, if I missed anyone when paying back, please kindly let me know. o/ |
