First of all, Thanks to CCP staff for working on the current issue at hand. It would seem this would be a preferred method of quality game play rather then deal with issues in game.
Second, For those of you who find the time to sit and ***** about the down time on this forum need to crawl up out of Grandma's basement and get a job. It's obvious you folks need to get your priority's straight. |

To expect perfection from imperfect creatures as we all are, is only disappointment waiting to wrench at your mind and heart. IT will be ready when it is ready , and there is nothing whining does, except give voice to greivences that are based on unrealsitic expectations. Eve is 5 years old and getting huuge by the day , These downtimes are indeed annoying, but all growing pains are expected and should be tolerated.
The customer is not always right , just loud .
I disagree due to the fact that EVE was started by a 5 year old in his grandfather's garage on a Apple IIE. Now, its a MMO sitting in a 10 year old's closet on a P2-350 with super-heavy-duty water-cooling technology. Its not complex, its just "LEGEND OF THE RED DRAGON" on crack! |

The issue has been fixed. The extra hour is just needed to rebuild the client and patches. The problem was a side-effect of StacklessIO integration into the client that uncovered a serious bug with camera control in space.
so what your really saing is that the flux capacitor overloaded while using the 9th chevron of the stargate, which just so happend to sling around the sun during flare season causing a time travel affect anyway? |

BST and DST need to go away. It is just asinine that we need to follow an idea that was put into place because of the lack of proper public lighting. |

you realize that GMT in iceland is an hour behind what GMT is in other countries?
As far as I know, they don't have daylight savings time there. so it isn't even 1700 there yet. (as evidenced by the time stamp on your posts in the forum) |

The correct terminology in the UK for GMT+1 is British Summer Time or BST.
Or, if you live anywhere else, GMT+1 or maybe even UTC+1.

That's what CCP said on page 1 of this thread!
And for those of you saying it's 17:43 right now and it should be up, it isn't. It's 16:43 GMT.
i live in the gmt time aera and i can assure you its 17:47pm doesnt go back a hour untill oct 27th i think
Well then you should know then that it is still BST(British Summer Time ) which is 1 hour ahead of GMT so they still have 8 minutes to go till they pass their 17:00 gmt time

For the sake of all the generalisers and holier than thou'ers nodding sagely at the wisdom of the above post... I just finished a 12 hour shift at work, prepared and cooked a meal, cleaned my apartment and picked up the shopping. I feel no guilt at being mildly disgruntled and having my say in this thread.
If it is ok for you to tar everyone with same brush then it is ok for me too.
So.....why dont you happy clappy everything is lovely people just lay off the medication and take some time off the moral high ground to get a "real" life, where other people dont fit into your superior mould?
End of return salvo. Carry on.

For a developer to defend this kind of downtime is rediculous. What have you coded? I'll be sure and not Purchase it.
Ever hear of Non-Production Testing? or Rollback?
For you developers that think this downtime is ok I'll explain it to you.
First you test the patches in a non-production environment. Before deploying the patch. You know what the machine is it will be running on, so it's not like your guessing about a damn laptops space key!
Rollback is when you deploy a patch, find out you haven't done enough Non-Production testing, and Boot the original program.
Did CCP forget to backup the server before "testing" this patch?
More importantly:
When will the Patch for this Patch be deployed?
