Many of us are tired of logging on to find belts being depleted by these macro miners then having to move to other systems to get the ore we need.
there have been many petitions against these things.
it is our understanding that those accts would be closed and IPs banned.
so far only reply to petitions is..." we'll look into it".
by us i mean many in my corp as well as others.
so what exactly is ccp view on this? |

Dunno about CCP's view, but personally I'm enjoying the rock-down prices on minerals and ice products \o/ |

they are apparently against the macroing .
many threads have been made, i am sure you can use the search feature.
if they are in a real corp war dec them if they are in an npc corp, get together with some corp mates, all make some low skilled frigate alts and suicide on them, rinse and repeat. If enough of you get together in your corp you can handle this. I am sure that they would eventually get the idea / move on |

CCP has possibly slow down the macro miners! I dont think the macro guys are making huge amount of isk Mining or Mining ICE.
Id be more concern about the macro ratters LMAO
Anyways: Non of these programs can make the isk - that the killboards are making, Webhosting or TS *vent* servers.
Trust me man: Headache you have isn't worth the price of isk!

i think the macros in general are making a killing.
just do a search on ebay and you will see there are many listings for macros.
people wouldn't keep them listed if they werent selling. |

explore any 0.0 space with a bad truesec (-0.1 to -0.3) and you'll find a lone chinese ratter macro eating up the shit spawn with hundreds of wrecks that haven't been looted / salvaged. So in empire they macro mine, en 0.0 they macro rat with ravens. |

I moved from a 0.7 system to a 0.5 system. There are at least 5 macro miners that I and others reported for months in the system I was in. And they are still there. I re-visit my old system to move items to the newer system when I get bored with mining and missions. There's just too much stuff to move all at once.
But anyways, systems that are lower than 0.7 have hardly any macro miners that I have noticed, they are very easy to notice if you are an active miner. I am guessing it is because of the rats in systems below 0.7, they do quite a bit more damage and as we all know, macro miners seldom if ever attack rats.
Based on my experience, it's a waste of your time to report them, but if you're mining, you have time to waste, so report them.
Just move, it's the best solution at the moment. Yea, I know, people may say, 'but I am not suppose to change the way I want to play based on others illegal activity'. Maybe not, but this is an adapt and survive world. I moved and am doing quite a bit better financially than staying in a system trying to compete with characters who mine 23 hours a day, 7 days a week, every week.

There is always going to be a mix of opinions!
God man, Im let the Developers worry - they dont pay me enough to worry =)

i'm not saying that I am against macroing in games, I have played games where the company was unofficially ok with macroing at least on the pvp servers *I am referring to manned macroing, you were supposed to be at your keyboard.
What I am against though is a company saying NO MACROING but then a certain fraction of the population getting away with it (either by not caring, or non enforcement). I mean if they aren't going to fully enforce it then they need to just come out and say that it is ok to macro.
as far as the ebay thing goes I posted about it because I have seen in other games where they do a much better job at policing and warning ebay listers for posting non desired things such as Ingame items, $, characters, macros.
I figure that we will always have to deal with macroers and isk spammers, i just find it silly that a fraction of the population just gets away with macroing.
