you'd cut half of the day in 1.1.1 deployment.. and now you want 6 hours.. as we all have expirienced a lot of times - will result at least couple hours more.. you'll actually cut a lot of prepaid time.. cos of i have only 0d:17h:27m of prepaid time, it's not very funny for me.. thanks, u're as always going great...

Is there an ETA on the fix for mining laser sounds? I submitted a bug (62044) that was added to defect tracking, but patch 1.1.1 didn't fix it, and it looks like patch 1.1.2 won't either. I have been wasting my life playing my WOW account because the sound is so botched. I would rather waste it playing EVE!

I do not understand the mentality of some people, if they do not agree with a persons view they tell them to leave game.
I respect a persons right to express a view whether i agree with it or not.
They infact as paying customers for a service have a right and an obligation to express discontent when the service doesnt live up to expectations, and yes if all else fails they can move on.
Im not satisfied with whats happening in eve latly, its reflected in the fact that many are leaving eve or have already left. And even though im not happy with the new lag, the constant boots, the nerfings that take away what made eve good. I have to admit that i dont have the expertise to fix the problems, id like to think part of what i pay in subscription does.
The only thing i see that hasnt changed is the constant sniping at other players who make posts. I guess for lack of anywhere else to expend energy that is how they do it.
And yes you neednt offer me the door as if it isnt made better ill not waste anymore time or money here . Argo

I am sure most here have played other online games and with most if not all other online games they change. At first the game is great and many flock to it to enjoy playing it but over time the game changes some will see the change as a good thing as others will see it as a bad thing. The patches will come and go the fixes will be fixed and more players will leave or start to play. The one thing that is the same in all online games is at some point the players no longer matter only their money does. I am not saying that eve has got to this point yet but i do see it getting there. As some have stated (as is always stated in game forums) that if a player does not like it they should leave, most stay hopping it will return to the greatness it once was until the day they too give up all hope and move on to the next new and better game. will eve be the same? look back at the online games you have played is eve any different? Is eve going down the same road as those other games have? As a player are you treated any different in eve than you were in those others? Some seek reimbursement for the time they payed for but were unable to play, I wonder if any other game refunds or adds time for time lost ( I do know of one game that has ). Playing online games is about having fun when it is no longer fun why would you keep playing?

It is not. Unprofessional would be if they didn't fix it, and you would be here then calling them unprofessional.

LOL - I said CCP needed to stop rushing Patches that have not completed CCP testing on the test servers. There is no reason much of the client testing remains for the main server.
If it looks like maybe 3% of the testing isn't going to be done by your announced patch day...delay the patch. It is better to delay a patch than need a patch on the patch. And if you announce your decision to slip things 24 hours in advance, it doesn't even look that bad.
Sure an occasional obscure bug will slip through. But the nature of these bugs tends to say they should not have been obscure given some real testing. Thus it looks like CCP is caught up in the bureaucracy of meeting its own internal schedules regardless of whether they are actually ready. Thus CCP risks new bugs that are worse, if shorter lived, than the problem the patch was to solve.

Dude, if the downtimes happened at the hour that you suggest, it would be on EVE prime time. 23:00 GMT??? You freakin nuts? they should happen between 8:00 and 12:00 GMT, wich is not far from what actually happens. |

Although I have to agree on the compensation time, on the urgent need of fixing the drones response, the overview lag and displaying bugs and also the F11 map, the fact is that i have played other MMOs, and rest assured, none has the devellopers avaliability that EVE has regarding fine tunning of it's game engine. Sure, there are problems that should have been addressed a long time ago, but at least they are addressing some, and at the same time trying to give us feedback, wich on most MMOs doesn't happen. You should try WoW, of AoC for instance, and have the problems that I had, then go tho their websites, and foruns, navigate for hours searching for solutions for the experienced problems, come back the next day, and the next, and the next for weeks, and not even one word from any sys admin or developper. Usualy the only ppl you can rely on these games are other players that are experiencing the same, or similar problems to help you. At least, on EVE, we realy do have feedback from developpers appart from the player community, wich is also a lot helpfull. You even have a chat channel ingame to try to help you with real developpers, SAs, and GMs. You recall any MMO where you have that?

Is this where I get in line to complain?
Your extended downtime patches kill those of us in east Asia where it is night and our only free time to play.
Anyway, carry on with improving my favorite "Excel in space" program. What else is there to do?

Edited by: Staberind on 02/10/2008 12:02:15 Surreal, talk about deja vu. lets hope this is a co-incidence and not a developing trend, hummmm? and yeah, i did notice jita was, a little further than usual yesterday, i also noticed some calls for separating the whole trading hub away from ji, its not a bad idea, but as this games economics are player run, & there is a great deal of "world shaping" needed to be done to replicate the situation in ji, so, i dont see it happening soon.

Edited by: Jolliejoe on 02/10/2008 11:59:52 This is just incredible as they add extended dt to extended dt and then extend these extended dt's even further.
Can't they see this is making the paying customers feel "funny"? Especially since there is absolutely no reason given why?.. Why? To fix 2 things they probably broke on tuesday?!! I'd say CCP management needs to get off their asses and throw something good at their paying customers for a change and compensate them for this madness.
This game is totally out of control.. or should I say, EVE dev's are totally out of control. Not that they really are to blame that much because most of them are rookies, novices at best as I read in their employement history (in a thread somewhere).
How great EVE could be if managed by professionals. Too pad you exercise your incompetence over the back of "loyal" paying customers.

hey,iv only been playing for a few months, love the game, hate the downtime.
would it be possible to have two servers?
server one for actively playing while server two is patched, then switch the server two to being the active one, while they then use server one for the next patch or update. downtime shouldn't take very long then, only long enough to switch between servers.
