I need to find the name of this sega megadrive game. It's driving me mad. The game was kinda like this music video Linkage (the bit where the astronaught is dodging crap). There were several bosses at the end of every stage and I remember it being insanely hard but great fun as well. Can anybody help me pleeease? |

Can someone tell me what game this is
It was an Arcade game, You have a plane that you fly, you have a birds eye view over it. and you shoot planes, tanks , and other things tat are simply in front of you.
I remember first boss of lvl 1 was: a huge tanked up spider looking htingy. And the second lvl boss, was a couple of armoured, well armed concords.
You could choose around 8 pilots to paly with, each from different countries. I use to pick the japanese ude cause his plane use to shoot Ninja stars and had an awesome bomb. Most people prefered an american pilot who had a nuke as a bomb, flew somekind of tank buster.
any idea?

Birds eye view, not side view.
You are basically seeing the plane from the top of it.
Silkworm doesn't look anything like it, this game 3d engine was also a bit mroe advanced than that.
I cant get any descent result for Strike fighters 1945. Bear in mind that the jap guy was flying some sort of a Mig 22, and there was a F 117 look alike fighter, Last time i played it was around 1995-4. It was pretty new back than amongst metal slug and such.
The style of game play was a more like this RoboBombo

Silkworm had side view, Silkworm IV was top down view, and I did say "sounds like" not looks like.

OK, my turn at "name that game" (I know the answer btw, just want to test the geekyness);
This is an old coin-up where you wrap your arm around a rocket and blast forward while killing monsters, the graphics where spectacular for their time. Also it has a big, moving cabinet. IIRC it had 18 levels.

I remember when my brother got his first nintendo. He started a nintendo club with his friends and they'd come over and play games but they'd never let me play anything which brought on massive envy and bullying the dog (I wasn't the brightest light back then)
Oh but do I remember the good ol days of super mario world on the NES.

bleh... I remember playing Space invaders, Combat, ET and Defender on my Atari 2600 :P
Defender.... got so good at it that I ended up with about a bazillion extra lives and a stupi score before I got bored and reset the console...
Atari 2600 version of space invaders was the first game with a built-in cheat (hold down one of the non-latching switches on the console while powering up (can't remember which) and you got to have two missiles on-screen at once instead of just one).
