Hidden GTC costs - read before you buy.

Che Che Caldari Contractors Unlimited Skunk-Works	Posted - 2008.10.04 11:42:00 - [1] I have brought a few GTC's in past and how it worked: i paid for GTC themselfs and the shipping costs and they would eventually end up on my door step through the post in a thick envolope. all happy. but there is now a change in devilvery service and they package there GTC in a box that does not fit into a standard letterbox! yes a small card ina big box stuff with paper! As a result there is now a delivery on top of what you pay too CCP for the size of the package no doubt. I paid for 3 GTC at cost of: ú53.97 I paid FedEx costs of: ú19.36 I then recieve an invoice to pay off FedFX of: ú22.18 which means in total the cost for x3 60 GTC (3 is most u can order in a giant box!!) costs ú95.51. eve subscription is 19 euros or there abouts per month with first month free.. its no longer worth purchasing GTC as 3 60 day GTC is not worth the real money no more. Discuss:

Would you have bought them from SC or any other e-mailing retailer, it would have costed you only the 54 pounds (ok, maybe 60 pounds tops, depending who your bank is and what exchange rates they have from GBP to USD... or less, if the USD tanks, and it probably will) and you would have gotten them within minutes instead of days. Thanks for the tip. Its more then legal. its even promoted by CCP! Many recommend ShatteredCrystal, I personally like Evetimecode. They are all supposed to be good though. Just expect a phonecall from the netshop for your first time trade.

Discuss: Oh dear, I just ordered before reading this and thought the jump up in postage was a bit steep. July 08 it was 2.40 GBP!!! I aleady sent off a complaint letter to the EVE Store. So now I've got another 22 GBP to pay when it arrives! Lovely I wonder if its too late to cancel? Can't imagine they'll be selling many GTCs via the EVE Store now.

My experience isn't good with shattered crystal. They have labeled me as a fraudster and they almost didn't want to give me my money back. The owner behind SC and trustwho is also somebody you don't want to give your private information to. Just a word of warning.
