It would be interesting if there was a way to include market costs in war. A large alliance should be able to block sells to individuals/corps/alliances that have a bad standing with them. Or, automatically apply a special tax/discount based on standing (e.g. 10%-200% more).
Naturally, a complex black market would develop, but that's still more interesting than the current state of Eve where mercenaries declaring wars serially.
There might be some interesting dynamics that develop if factions won't sell to each other. More middlemen will develop who's job would depend on not upsetting anyone.
(I searched to see if this idea was already posted and didn't have much luck. Sorry if it's a dup.)

I have to confess that I don't know much about the state of software development for Eve and there's so much long-term bulk content generated in the past N years that searching isn't helpful.
It seems like there's active programming happening with the 1.1 roll-out.
Are these cosmetic changes, etc and any significant new development is going into the "next big game"?
I'd love a link to more information, but I'll read more forums and see what I can find.
I'd like to think it's a fairly minor change (it would be similar to the tax paid when something is placed on the market, except it would happen when something is purchased); however, I'm not so niave. There are probably a million details to get right.
Thanks for the reply

no effect!
nooby corp alt char is buying the item insted and is dropping it somewhere in space. plus most of the frighter pilots and trader are "corpless" for faction reason anyway... so no effect at all.
but would be great for trader
find out where your enemy is moon mining and plast there pos, find there miner and kill them, spy out there trade routes blast and loot there haulers... this is real economic war!

Testalus is totally right, which is why I support this proposal. ç¦ |
