I have a headache and I'm tired so I could just be short sighted atm but i've looked at this and it's making very little sense to me.
I have a faction shield booster fitted to my raven which gives me 840 hp boost every 4 seconds but when I fit a boost amp it goes DOWN to 825 hp every 4 seconds. I tried this with a tech 1 shield booster and the same boost amp and it worked as intended giving me 530 hp every 4 secs with the boost amp, over the standard 390 without it.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is it a bug or am I just missing something?

Sounds like a bug. Report it.

You need to be sure it's a display bug and not an actual bug. Let me know where you are and I'll help test out your tank.

Take some sort of painkiller and go to bed. If it still looks the same in the morning, report it. sXe |

you wouldn't happened to be fitting a Capacitor Power Relay when you fit that boost amp on do you?
You would think CCP would have added things like, "Amarr", "CCP", "Microwarpdrive", etc. to their forum dictionary.

I am fitting a cap power relay or 5 in fact.
I think it could just be some kind of display bug because I only get this when I have 5 CPRs fitted, any less and it shows the correct stats on the shield booster.
Thanks for all your comments but I think it's sorted now.

Capacitor Power Relays reduce the amount of shield hp you get from shield boosting. It's not that you were getting a bad result from the amplifier, it's that you were destroying your shield boosting ability by stacking so many Cap Power Relays.

I realise that but this doesn't explain why the stats were showing incorrect information.
The shield boost module I was using has a boost amount of 840 but even after fitting 5 cap power relays it was still showing 840 when the actual amount was closer to 600.
I played about with the amount of power relays I had fitted and as soon as I took one out the bug seemed to disappear and it showed a reduced shield boost amount in the modules stats.

Info windows never auto-update. Were you opening up a new info window after you changed the modules? But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started.

The Cap bonus of CPRs is not stacking penalized. The Shield Boost penalty is. This means that after 2-3 CPRs, the extra cap far outweighs the penalty which you can usually make up with a single SBA. It's a fairly common and effective way to (nearly)perma-run XL/Capital shield boosters.
If you're running a shield booster with only a single CPR, you're pretty well daft. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |

I'm using CPRs so I can constantly boost without worrying about my cap dying.
Why what would you suggest I do?
Damage mods would be great if I was doing PVP but I'm not I'm just running missions so shield boost and cap stability are more important to me.

Worry more and have a more successful setup - use some BCUs and some PDUs, and you'll have a fun time. Using CPRs is not a successful tactic in making a grand shield tank. ---
