How about assuming responsibility for rotating corporate short term lines of credit?
Nah. That would never happen.

Can we now say capitalism was tried and failed too? As people do with communism due to its horrible track record.

Capitalism hasn't failed; the extremely rich, who make their money at the expense of the not extremely rich (after all... how can they have so much more unless so many more people have less) are still extremely rich and likely to remain so. As they have had control of the USA (and lots of other countries) for a long time now, it would appear the system is working fine. Indeed, the gap between the super rich and the rest of society is widening, so it appears that Capitalism is working even better than expected.
Communism doesn't actually have a track record to speak of, as it has never been properly implemented on a large scale.
So-called Communist states have merely been plutocracies or oligarchies masquerading as communist in order to keep the proles quiet. Acton's dictum 4tw!
I'll have a pint of Theakston's Old Peculiar and a double JD and coke please, no ice.
