I just got CONCORDOKKEN'd for "aiding a criminal" What i did was help a noob who was too poor to afford repairs and to shortsighted(in polite terms) to keep a repper in his hangar. I offered to help the poor noob since i HAD a remote repper. noob comes, i rep. while repping he starts shooting at me (says he hit f1 by accident). Gets flagged and concorded, and since i was still repping him, i too get flagged and concorded. pretty bad, considering i was in a domi.
yeah yeah, roflmao at self Now, whinage aside, i think this is a loophole which needs to be fixed. Don't say "stop whining" I petitioned like a sensible guy. But this loophole is still there. You should not get flagged if the guy gets flagged AFTER you start repairing him, or at least be given time to turn off the repper. So, any thoughts? ____________________ I had a sig here, but I NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM nommed it... |

Doesn't it show a warning like "You are about to do something illegal and stupid, please stop because you're about to look ******ed in front of an entire system. Do you still want to do this?"

No it doesn't
And yes the OP is right. Concord needs to give people an opportunity to stop what they're currently doing if someone they're targeting becomes a criminal.

or dont do it anywhere outside the docking radius of the station, that way when you see someone go global you can just dock up without getting concorded since repping a criminal isnt a "hostile" action...
or the simplest solution, dont rep strangers.

Read it again. i was ALREADY repping him, he got flagged after i started repping. That's the loophole i'm pointing out.

I was in oursulaert, combined with concord suddenly popping up and going *BLAMM* *BLAMM*, i lagged to much to be able to dock, even though i WAS inside a docking perimeter

yeah, that's also a possibility. he didn't gloat tho, which i'm sure he would have if it'd been a trick, and that's still a big gaping loophole getting exploited. ____________________ I had a sig here, but I NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM nommed it... |

I'd like to take this opportunity to say that I lolled when I read it. Now on to the important part. As much as CONCORD warn you before commiting a criminal offence, they should also warn you to stop the "criminal" activity once it has begun, and in ShadowDraqon's case, it wasnt a criminal offence until the noob began his move, just like when they give you a certain amount of time to leave a certain sec space due to your standings.
By the way let me congratulate you on being the first victim of such a loophole.

Yeah that is a funny one, as long as it didn't happen to me. I sense a plague on the horizon... and then a fix some time in 09?

I think it's funny you got nuked for aiding a dude that was shooting at you. It's also really stupid. I personally think the injured party should have to call concord. Kinda like choosing whether or not to press charges when someone commits a crime against you.
In the case of a players property in space, I supposed concord would still have to auto react.

Edited by: JanSVK on 19/10/2008 21:10:35 It may be possible that you already had the warning turned off. It also pops when you use smartbomb in empire. Long time ago I suggested a separate warning or setting where the player can choose if he can do something that would NOT COULD but WOULD result in concording and not allow to activate or deactivate the module that would cause the concording.
I also suggest to petition it. If it really happend as you described CCPs logs will show that and you should get your ship back.

I didn't turn the warning off. Remote repairing isn't illegal, but remote repairing a flagged criminal is. The guy I was repping wasn't flagged when i started, but when he shot at me and got flagged, I also got flagged for "aiding a criminal" without any warning.

UPDATE:
The petition was answered, and i did not get my ship back. Which i think is unfair, since this really is an exploitation of a loophole in the game mechanics. ______________________ I got killed for my kindness no, rly |
