Would you qualify scamming as combat on that?

It shows movement of materials through various levels, from creation till they are used (combat), Scamming is just transferring them and doesn't create nor destroy resources, they just switch hands.

I'm surprised the link took me to something intelligent and well made
I was expecting a MS Paint Pac-man named "Piwat" eating a Raven.

Edited by: Strill on 18/10/2008 09:46:36 Missions create Loyalty points which are used at LP stores which are an ISK sink and an item source. Also, refining isn't an ISK sink since it only reduces the amount of minerals you get. You don't get charged any ISK for refining.

Its an ISK faucet, it makes ISK from nowhere, thats not saying its profitable.
Buying and sellin items dosent make isk (taxes actually take a little isk out) but other than that isk is just changing hands. Insurance actually CREATES isk. -----------------

It's not, but it sure is an ISK faucet. For example:
- Player 1 mines a ton of minerals to build ship. - Player 1 builds ship and sells it on market. - ISK is transfered from Player 2 (buyer) to Player 1 (No ISK was added or removed to the economy) - Player 2 gets ship destroyed. - Player 2 gets insurance ISK out of nowhere, adding ISK to the economy.

Aye, I get confused by the level of abstraction here.
With only isk in and out from the Eve-universe as a scope I find it strange to see blueprints as a sink. (manufactoring and invention yes, but the BPO/BPC itself?).

1) I steal your ship 2) I insure it (or don't even bother) 3) I blow it up 4) Profit!

That would add trade to the chart, with a bunch of new sinks, wouldnt it? And it wont apply to T2. |

Have you considered dual-colouring some stuff, and making the distinction between item faucets and sinks (and conversions)?
eg. Manufacturing = Isk sink + Item conversion (mineral → product)
…or Combat = Item sink (ship, some modules), but which leads to the activity Salvaging (an item faucet) and, as already indicated, Insurance (ISK faucet).

on the tech II BPO's, any research done is a sink, either through pos fuel to research from lab or install in npc slot. BPC's are a sink in invention as the invention process makes things go away with no guarantee of getting anything back.

Yes, and resarch, POS, and invention are allready in the chart as sinks.

only invention is placed on the tech II side. Which I would say is a good enough reason for the bpo itself to be red.
POSes are placed at the component production side, not the tech II blueprint. ------- CEO of Maids. No I didn't pick the name. I've grown rather fond of it though.Poor PR in progress!

yes, what is missing is a connection from the research sink to the T2 blueprint item. Or T2 Blueprint should maybe be called T2 BPO researh instead.

Trying to figure out what made me confused in the first place, I had to create a chart with fewer levels.
What got me confused was the level of details about items, when items didnt have any impact or value in the original chart.
To the OP, perhaps you could make it show both the flow of minerals/items and of isk in the same chart. Moving minerals from left to right and isk from top to bottom etc.

Take the line you made back out from TII items linking it back to Refine, noone refines TII items and if they did they would get components back and there are even more not very nice lines you would have to add ; ]

On closer inspection the TII side of it is a little wonky:
Moon Materials used to make simple reactions
Simple reactions used to make Complex reactions
Complex reactions used to make TII components
Minerals are used to make TI variety, TI variety is used in creation of the TII variant as well as more Minerals, TII Components and NPC Purchased Trade Goods.
Reprocessing a TII item or ship gives you portion of the minerals from the TI build and part of the minerals you added for the TII build including TII components and trade goods.

I was just showing that they can be refined.
Ill need to start a new one to incorporate more detail.
So heres a list of stuff to add.
*Empire trading needs to be added. (isk sink, include pos fuel) *T2 Refining needs to be cleaned up. *Need to add reactions *Agent awards need to be added, Lp store is an isk sink, but the agents do give you iskies to do the missions. *Separate missions from exploration. *Skill books need to be added *Contracts needs to be added
I could incorporate it into the current one but it has too many lines.
Anything else im missing?

No. No ISK is generated through mining, only items (ore).
