If there is not a greater waste of resources and time assembling MOST (Not All) story line items, I Don't what is. Next time an agent rewards you with a Citadella 50mm armor, just trade it in fast for some rolled tungsten.
The skills and parts to assemble this stuff are both expensive and ridiculous. I can't honestly see what the original reason for these items being introduced into the game WAS. In addition why there is even a research branch into some of the ancient technologies.
I am hoping someone here can give me some insight into the advantages, if any (some powergid) of having these items in game play. Please.....
( I am hoping there is some special EVE insider secret here????)

Lets break in a logic pattern..
Keep in mind the average mentality often on these forums is non cooperative, and critical.. So it requires a comuniction style that is in line with that behavior....
The primary objective of the statement was to draw out potential information on any use, or advantage to story line items. This is an attempt to discover if there is any necessity of them being involved in game play...This is the idea, this is the feature in which the target element of your concern is addressed.
If they have no advantage in game play. The following argument must then be to either eliminate them, mark them as useless, or improve them in following patches..
Would you have preferred that the question be posted in that format?

Yes. The whine was really fastidious. And then this is a question for the mission forum as you are asking informations on the Cosmos missions or the Module forums if you want to know if they have specific advantages.
Now some of your replies (not about specific modules, only generalities):
- most Cosmos items have easier fitting requirements, so they are used for specialized set up. As they are not produced in large quantities the sell price is sometime good;
- the Cosmos items were introduced before T2 so several of them are not competitive against T2, especially now that the T2 prices are low;
- some Cosmos item are better than T2;
- some Cosmos components prices has inflated as the components are used for Data interface construction.
So the whole situation is that it all depend on the single item. some are good sellers and worth the effort, some are junk. It has been long rumored that the "ancient technologies" skills would be used in T3 invention/production but it was only some hint from devs, nothing substantial was really stated.
Sufficient?

That can explain alot. Being only with the game for 10 months, and spendng up to 125,000,000 isk on some of these skill books. I was trying to determine what the purpose of the story line items are, and the reasons for them being in the game at all..So, with that in mind...I Feel it would add value to the game by improving these rare items beyond thier T2 counterparts..
This realy was not a miision question, nor a skill question. It was an attempt to debate making these items worth being in the game, or get rid of them all together..
I would prefer these story line itemns as well as some T2 items, making them more usefull than some of their T1 counterparts. Otherwise why even dedicate the Cache to thier existence?
Yes Sufficient,,

Wrong forum. Anyway, to answer your question the storyline items come from something called COSMOS. It was CCP's attempt to add more local flavor to the game like you find in other MMOGs but they apparently abandoned the project in favor of other stuff, leaving a mini-profession and a number of items and systems only halfway finished. Its possible the archaeology skills will have more use in the future, and as has been said a handful of the items are halfway decent (they wanted them to rival t1/named and encourage small-scale crafting but it didnt pan out). _________________ [IMAGE REMOVED] -- aka Cpt Bogus -- Is that my torped sig cloaking your base?
