Jut toying with the idea as I now have the money to burn. Want to generate a few kills before I get taken down solo in 0.0 enemy teritory. Am hoping to have a copr mate or two as I will do massively better being Caldari.
My Top choices are currently:
Torp Raven- with tackle gear and as big buffer shield tank as I can get ( Was thinking of a fun Armor buffer tank to see if it would work but I think this massively lowers the gank option)
Cerb- AM thinking something along the same lines as the raven.
Falcon/Rook- I LOVE this idea but I know my tank is ECM. and if I fail I die, but what can it take on? DO I have hopes or taking something like a BS down before the cavalry arrives??

Torp ravens can be tons of fun. But they can also be kind of tricky to handle. Don't expect a good fitting will make you a good pilot.
Cerb is quite a bit easier, but it's highly dependant on your teammates and/or targetpicking.
Falcon and rook? If your lucky a pod won't survive long enough. Falcons make battlebadgers look fearsome.

I don't see no HAM Drake on your list.
It Tackles, Does a lot of DPS, it has still the best buffer tank, what more do you want, plus it's not a BRICK compared to the other plated BC's.... but still it's a brick :)...

Nano-cerb till the speed nerf comes through. Flying the other stuff solo will see you getting ganked by roaming gangs/camps.

If you must use a Torp-Raven for solo 0.0 fun, this is probably the setup to run with, although it does require a +pg implant or AWU 5.
HIGH: 6 x Siege Launcher II 1 x Heavy Unstable Energy Neut <- shoehorned in to provide defence against random 'ceptors/nanoHAC's etc 1 x Random Mod (Offlined - Heatsink)
MEDS: 2 x LSE II 1 x Invul Field II 1 x PWNAGE Painter 1 x Warp Disruptor II 1 x 100mn MWD
LOWS: 3 x BCS II 1 x RCU II <- needed to fit the neut, a PDS is no good
RIGS: 3 x Core Defence Field Extender I
DRONES: 2 x Ogre II 2 x Hammerhead II 1 x Hobgoblin II
With my skills (admittedly I'm more geared to gunships, but Cal BS 5 helps I'm sure) I could spit out 1194dps by using rage torps and overloading the launchers. The painter will help as much of this reach the target as possible. 87k EHP coming mostly from 23k shields.
Should tear stuff up pretty damn fast but my god would you need balls of steel to fly one solo in nullsec.
A more realistic and survivable option would be a nanocerb (until the speed patch) like this one maybe:
HIGHS: 5 x Heavy Missile Launcher II 1 x Improved Cloak II <- optional but helps you escape the BLOB OF REVENGE
MEDS: 1 x Y-T8 MWD 1 x Warp Disruptor II 1 x Photon Scattering Field II 1 x Small Cap Booster (200's) 1 x LSE II
LOWS: 3 x Overdrive II 1 x BCS II
RIGS: 2 x Polycarb I
Not a lot of experience at flying nanocerbs given that I can also fly Zealots, Sacris and Ishtars so there are probably better fits around.
Falcon/Rook? No. Even if you can keep the target jammed, you won't have enough firepower to break pretty much anything. I did once EFT a fit for a nanorook as a possible experiment in mobile ECM for nanogangs but never actually built it. Probably because it looked crap (sacrificing jam power to nano it, still nowhere near fast enough - around 2.5k, appalling firepower from assault launchers). There's a reason people take Rapiers and Curses instead! "I got soul but I'm not a soldier" |

This is what I would go with. If your not filthy rich leave it unrigged for a 30m replacement pricetag (1-2 hourst of ratting).
Also use CN torps and put DC II for 5th low slot.
My opinion at least.
I've also seen the HAM Drake used to good effect.
As always though, nano until nerf (maybe? Haven't tested changes) for greater survivability. Otherwise it's just a fun suicide run and there's nothing wrong with that.

The obvious choice is the Drake - which remains the only proven Caldari Solo ship.
I also hold out high hopes for the Scorpion as a potential solo ship. Using Torpedos means you can generate enough damage to break most any tank, and you can use the spare highs for more gank, cap warfare/drone defense and so forth. The ample mid slots mean you can fit MWD + Point + 2 ECM + Tank for an effective defense against single targets. The low slots would basically be used for damage mods, perhaps a signal distortion amp (to improve your odds of jamming and increasing your tank) and/or a DCU. Rigs can be done on the cheap using resist rigs, or one can go the route of the extender rigs. Theoritically it can solo most any other solo ship. The trick is solo PVP is hard to come by and the minute you have more than one opponent your odds of survival go down the toilet fast.

Ham drake all the way but the real question is have you got awu iv or v? iv = 1 lse, v = 2 lse. -------------------------

If you pick your fights well (As anyone soloing should do), the Torp Raven, HAM Drake, Blaster Ferox or Blaster Rohk can make pretty good solo ships if you ask me. _____________ Hai. |
