Edited by: highonpop on 21/10/2008 17:07:23 my alliance has been ware dec'd. But im curious whether i can participate? My corp hasnt declared it "mutual", and they plan to possibly stay out of it. But i really want some PvP experience, without the threat of concord.
People from my alliance have reported that the enemy forces are not very strong, and the war should be over quickly (which is why my corp is not interested)
can i still engage a war target without concord's penalties? or does my corp have to declare it mutual?
....or am i just lost on how this all works? _____________________ *warp drive acti...wait, where are we going?*

As long as your alliance is wardecced every corp within the alliance is wardecced, too. So to stay out of the wardec your corp would have to leave the alliance, else the corp stays a legal war target. So if you want to engage a wartarget you can do so as they will do unto you, too. Mutual or not doesn't matter in this case.

Mutual means that they don't need to pay for the wardec, methinks. That also means that if they try to bail out of the war, you can choose to continue the dec and shoot them in a vae victis fashion (the original saying, not the alliance).

Not true actually. when the person war dec'd declares it mutual the war becomes free so there are no fees for the oposition, this is more of a epeen thing if the war decing corp wants to bail out, but the war can still be ended by the war decing corp/alliance be retracting the war dec.
