It's like a big...ship. Some sort of carrying-vessel...for carrying other vessels. And vessel-stuff. Like a lot of other ships...But for carebears.
It's all technically very very complex, don't worry about it, rest assured it'll explode like the rest, off you go then _____________________

Makes ore-thiefs cry and macro miners cheer?
Quote: For example, when out on mining ops your haulers (if you still need them with the Orca present) can take from here instead of scooping jet cans.

Not much for me if it won't be getting some form of ore compression. I use 4 hulks and a hauler so I was going to replace the hauler in my mining op with an orca due to the very long time you can sit in a belt with compression. Alas there is no compression so the yeild I would lose from lost command bonuses by docking up and unloading the ore would pretty much negate its high isk cost to deploy. Dropping a hulk for an orca is not an option and if I get an addition account to do the hauling then I might as well have used a bc with command links and miner II to get moast of the orcas mining bonuses for a fraction of the isk and skill reqs. Granted you get the corp hanger and a maintainace bay in the bargain but that won't change the need to use a hauler to get the top effeciency out of it. Remember this is first and formost an ORE ship to be used in belts and not some glorified indy on steroids.

Its still a possability, and you would still benefit from using the orca over a hauler anyway, if i understand you're just using a hauler, though the orca would cost more, it could sit as a central point pulling all the hulk cans at once, making micro-managing the operation easier, plus the added bonus from it being out there while you're filling it, meaning command links are working. Less threat from ore thiefs, More cargo space meaning less runs to the station, and a bigger E-peen to wave, giving it compression, i admit, wouldnt hurt though,

The orca gets something silly like 100k max cargo... but tons more ehp from what I understand... It also cant use capitol stuff. about 7 slots total...

Hauling, tractoring cans, holding ships, providing gang links. Plenty of nice stuff it can do.
