How would you rate racial frigate skills.
<insert race here> Frigate V requires approximately 10 days to train and is required to fly 8 tech t2 race specific ships. I don't plan to specialize in small ships and don't have any ship in mind for myself, but I figured it would be nice to have one of 4 trained for convenience and versality since it is only rank 2 skill.
If you are bored you can rate cruisers and battleship skills as well, but I am interested in frigates

Define "rate" them...
How usefull they are? Very, if you're looking to fly ships that require them. How good they are compared to other class skills, like Cruiser and Battleship? Definitely needed to train them, so
Besides that, the most fun I've had, was in an Interceptor on one character and AF on the other... Lethal, I tell you

Rate them among themselves. For example Cheetah is considered the best cover ops ship if heard correctly but there 7 more ships of each race to consider. But of course some of these ships are more useful than the others (like interceptors and cover ops) so that may influence your choice as well. I just need to pick up one of them and want to make a decent choice also get some insight on the matter if you will

Bladen, from the first post and teh first sentence in your second post, it sounds like you want us to rate the SKILLS. But the rest of #2 looks like you want us to rate the SHIPS.
Both things are really stupid. 1. The skills are identical, except for the fact that they give access to ships of different races. 2. No matter who you ask, you will always have some who say the Enyo is better than the Ishkur and some who thinks the Ishkur PWNS the Enyo any day. Every ship has a role. Fly it accordingly and there is no ship better suited than that. Fly it for any other purpose and you might have more fun flying something else.
As for the best of the individual classes, that's again a matter of how you play. The Helios sucks to some people, because it only have two highslots, enough for a cloak and a probe launcher. The others have 3 slots and can fit a weapon AND cloak and launcher, but that's not the purpose of the ship, so in that aspect the Helios relly pwns the others. The Cormorant can hit REALLY far with its range bonus, making it top of the class when it comes to frigate-sniping, right? Yeah, except the Trasher kicks ass when it comes to slaughtering the interceptors that got too close for longrange weapons to track. So there's no point in asking what's the best. In EVE, there is no best. Only what YOU want to fly should determine what you train... |

Of course I want you to rate ships, what else would you get lvl 5 of frigate skills. And since they don't differ in number of skill points and give access to the same ammount of ships the only difference between them is the ships they provide access too. And I do realize that the opinion of people may vary thats why I am not seeking truth concerning who is right about Helios or not I just want to see the bigger picture. If you are too lazy to compare or not competent enough to compare them as a whole then just give your biased opinion and it will be welcomed as well. Which race has the best assortement of t2 frigates, which race has the worst assortiment, and which two races are in between.

And it'll be completely different 6 months from now.

T2 frigs are good not so much for PvP but that is changing some are better than others
e.g. I've solo'ed some Level4 combat missions with a T2 fitted Retibution up and comming changes make thinks different - it is worth getting them trained so you are not nurfed by nurfs -- BIG Lottery, BIG Deal, InEve

Not at all. As long as I am Gallente, Gallente will always have the best, Caldari will always have the worst As for the Amarr and Minmatar, I would of course put my allies, Minmatar, on a 2nd place and Amarr 3rd...

The golden rule is that narfs don't affect small ships. So train them all.

So, how to pick one T2 frigate tree. Since you do not plan to specialize in their use, we can mostly ignore the combat capabilities, and treat them as tools for heavy-class pilot.
* Interceptors: - Handy and safer replacement for shuttles/t1 frigates. With cloak + mwd + medium shield extender nanofitted ceptor can for safely navigate 0.0/lowsec, or afk-travel accross Empire space. -> Minmatar line, IMHO, excels here (as designed)
* Covert Ops (for non-specialized pilots) - CPU will be problem due non-maxed cloak -> Caldari - For scouting / transport duties speed as above -> Minmatar
* Interdictors - Requires bunch of other skills too, at which point you could as well train other frigate to lv5 - Neverthless -> Minmatar Sabre
* Electronic Attack Frigates -> No idea
Thus, for general 'all-purpose-tool' skill would suggest starting with Minmatar frigate lv5
-Lasse Gallente-specialized with Minmatar side-affairs

Once again everyoe ignores the Assualt Frig.
Where else can you see frigates tanks cruisers 23/7?
Best of all, for you RP's, you get INSANE resists vs the racial enemy.
Case in point... Minnie AF with SHIELD EM resists over 90 base. Amarr AF with high 80's exp resists on armor.
