Right now, the Orca seems not much of a ship that the playerbase wanted... It's not really a command ship as there's no way to run more than one command module at a time. To sum it up, it's not much more than a big industrial with a few minor gimmicks. I propose to call its class "Heavy Industrial". That describes the ship class way better.
However, there's much potential to it. Think about Tech2 (or Tier2/3): + A ship that needs both the skill for "Heavy Industrial" and Command Ships could give the boost one side of the players want. A ship with the ability to run three modules at a time with minor changes to the way this ship works till now. That ship class could finally be called "Industrial Command". + A ship that needs both the skill for "Heavy Industrial" and Industrial Reconfiguration at level 5 instead of Mining Barge at level 5 could allow this ship type to equip a module for Compression. However, only with one production slot. --- "Multiple exclamation marks are a sure sign for a diseased mind." -Terry Pratchett |

There is a module called a Command Processor. This allows you to fit more gang links. The orca has the slots and grid/cpu to fit this. So I disagree with there being "no way". ------------- Stop whining.

Why is that again? Half of the actual command ships can only run one gang link (which is what I'm assuming you're refering to) at a time.
I think the Orca is fine. It will fill a much-needed niche without providing too much for HiSec use. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |

This is a bug on SISI, CCP Chronotis said this will be fixed to allow 3 to run at the same time.

Personally I agree somewhat, I think there should have been a non-mining related T1 version of the Orca to be a mini-freighter/hauler. And a T2 version with compression and mining bonuses ;) |

was on sisi a few days ago and was running 3links np.
should really have 4 high slots imo for 3 links and 1 tractor.
also why is it so slow. when rigged and fitted with expanders i just get 61 m/s my freighter gets 115m/s and is much bigger. As its ment to be mining op/mini freighter surly a little bit more base speed would help it somewhat in its role

That would be a large industrial like the Iteron V or Mammoth.

...and that would be the Rorqual.
The Orca was designed to bridge the gap between all those different ships, and to have some of each. In that role, I think what CCP came up with it's perfect. It's not supposed to replace the Rorq, nor is it supposed to replace freighters. It's a niche ship as it's being presented, and I can't wait to get one. |
