My Gallente [we haz fiery wub :3]
Int 7 Per 11 Cha 8 Will 6 Mem 7
After optimal learning skills [Basic Vs, Advanced IVs, Learning V] and +3 combat clone
Int 20.90 Per 25.30 Cha 22.00 Will 19.80 Mem 20.90
Yes I invested in Charisma - I'm assuming ambulation might hopefully possibly maybe need it

I have base 3 perception. It sucks sometimes but on the otherhand I trained support skills a lot faster. Cap skills / drones / armor tanking / electronics etc. So in the end it works out about even.

My character has 10^100 Charisma, it's like being a walking Linx advert. Unfortunately he is also pretty much deaf and blind.
Stupid Intakis.

I like the skillsystem in EVE where we progress over time.. but it's definately really brutal on younger players.
My first character (I had two before Misanth) was made with a bit more charisma than I would've wanted today. But it was fairly good, neither him nor Misanth was a disaster attribute wise.
A portion of luck, and a portion of experience from other MMO's made me decide at start "I have no clue what attributes does, or how it will affect me in the long term, so best thing is probably to spread them fairly even at start".
Tough luck for those that wasn't as lucky at their creation. EVE is brutal!

I SPECCED MEMORY!!!!!11111ONE1!11!ELEVEN!!!! because you know the skill descriptions say that you need it to learn lots of skills faster and all that... Actually, out of all my accounts Schalac has the worst attributes, slowest train times and more level 5 skills than any other character on my EVEMON. But hey, when I do finally decide to get serious about my drone skills I'm set.

I have experienced both sides of this coin to be honest. An industrially specced character who took forever to train ship and weapon skills and a combat character who struggled in the other aspects. If you are really interested in getting into combat you might want to look at what your attributes will train well.
High memory = drones High intelligence and memory = tanking, logistics and electronic skills. The latter will make you popular in gangs High Charisma = leadership skills. No one complains about being boosted
however you look there are many months of skills you could be training with high "industry" focussed attributes.

And this is why I love my high-memory, high-intelligence Intaki. I'm primarily a drone/e-war pilot, so it's great for me.

I put one or two points on charisma on this char, which was an industry background. My 6-month newer Achura alt has 3M more SP than me .

Yeah, I gimped my first character with a Perception of 3. Except that it took me an obscenely long time to figure out why I wasn't getting all the cool skills as fast as my friends; it was only about a year or so into it that I worked out that my friends who joined months after me were over taking my character and I rerolled.
On my third main now (long story), just came back to the game and really regretting not continuing my skill training during my absence. Feels weird to know that I started playing about 4 years ago and I only have 10 million skillpoints. At least in this game, skillpoints are everything.

Originally by: Rhatar Khurin Hehe, i made a balanced character that started with a mining theme.
Most of my stats are around 20 without fully trained learning skills.
You could make an alt and start training that up i guess.
This. For a first time player this is the answer if they are not sure what they want to do. A well rounded character allows for more flexability.
And yes this is what I did and I definitely don't regret it. Especially when I decided to do command ship, and having chasima on par with all the other skills made it a breeze.

Don't give that up bud, you can still be a Cap pilot, it's not out of reach.
Skills linkage of me.
It's still a viable route, just specialise.

I'm intaki as well. When I was reading the....manual back in 2003, I thought it was a good idea to have good charisma Not that I mind though... I "needed" charisma on some skills (like leadership for fleets and social for when I was agentgrinding). 86mil sp's now... might have got 95ish if I had those charisma points spent elsewhere so no biggie. So true...I mean...yeah, I *am* sexy.
I put points in charisma because I wanted to be a trade character. Not really a big deal to have high charisma even for that actually.

Same here
Charisma Charisma is a character's attractiveness to others. A high charisma attribute helps in all dealings with computer-controlled characters.
....and so 27 charisma. oh well..

Hey guys, being an Intaki is where it's at.
Not only do you get sexy good looks, but you also get an amazing boost to your Charisma.
And those sexy good looks. And I'm a combat pilot \o/
I had the following base stats:
8 cha 10 int 8 per 7 mem 6 wil
I suffer in willpower, and it's noticeable, but the overall stats are manageable :)

Yeah I ended up with something like 16-18 perception/memory when all was said and done. :welp:
I had no idea what I was doing when I started (in 2004!) because the tutorial didn't say that charisma is a dump stat unless you want to run a corp. So lately I just choked down the bill for some +4's to get over 20 while training drone and combat skills, and it's good enough since I'm kind of attached to the character.
If it bugs you that much, sell and buy a combat char.

Kinda glad I picked 3 charisma and rest fairly balanced, Capital ship V with +5's and Adv Learning 5's take 51d. I'm usually in a +4 combatclone tho so a bit more.
70.. that's just sick.
Heh...tell me about it. That's with the relevant advanced learning skill at 5 and +4s in.
I've got about 75M sps and most of them are in perception heavy skills. It always a tough slog to a lvl 5...heheh.
