I still play the RealX mix from the fanfair last year or the year before. When I end up playing it I always end up putting the music back on in game thinking its going to be the same. The problem is the in game music, except for missions, is to soft and light.
I'll be listening to the new music when its put in game but I can't picture myself playing it for more then a week or two. I wish CCP would introduce more upbeat music to EVE. Give us a choice to select from the traditional in game music or a list of fast paced tracks.
I don't understand why the music always has to be "soothing". Let Real loose and allow him to create EVE'esque, fast paced, hard hitting music for us to blow **** up by.
I won't be going to fanfair but I am really hoping for some kind of RealX track to make their way to the download section, much like the previous fanfair.
Who agrees with me??

I dunno man, I always liked all the tracks in EVE because of their appropriate amount of "spaceyness". Not all of them fit during a fleet fight of course, but I tend to turn off the ingame music during those kinds of situations :)

They did the or thing. They gave you the option to turn it off and to play your own stuff in the background.

The "or" thing is something you can do in any game. For the past year I haven't had the in game music on very much. I tend to listen to my own stuff instead. What I'm asking for though is in game music with more of a pulse but clearly EVE.
I would like the "spaceiness" of Eve's music(as WInterblink put it) but more upbeat. Something you could play during a fleet battle or while out looking for a bit of 1v1.

"Below the Asteroids" is probably the most upbeat track in the normal repertoire.
It is also quite possibly the most popular track in the normal repertoire.
I think that says something

The music in EVE is way too underrated and unappreciated. |

I got to agrere with the OP. Although Winterblink is correct the ambient electronic teme music is very good background music for EvE (basically like playing a chollout album in space) the JUkeBox selction is defintely lacking more uplifting, eneregtic beats.
Ofc music is a matter of personal taste but the track used for the "Eve Never Fades" trailer is what i was hoping would be included.
Let's hope the new tracks coming with QR offer something different. Afterall, variety ins the spice of life!

You cannot really go wrong with ambient music though, when your doing something energetic you tend to tune ambient tracks out but faster more up beat tracks can be down right annoying if they play at the wrong time.

Really useful too, it can tell you when someone decloaks nearby or when someone begins to target you. Not so useful in large fleet battles though.

I agree that the track list lacks some punch and thats why I almost exclusively listen to Infected mushrooms while playing eve.

Shiva Theme 003 was one of the best opening songs for any video game. I think that it was used during Red Moon Rising. There were times I logged into the game but did not login right away just so I could listen to the whole song. Then there was the music for the Revelations video that pushed you to go to war. The Trinity video, while used to present new graphics, used music that made everything peaceful - a complete turn from what Eve has always used as its foundation: cold, dark, and deadly.
But overall, excellent music all around.

I usually listen to Angina P. or some metal band for combat situation. In fleet though, I keep it as quiet as possible. |

I like the in game music but most of it is only suited to mining or hanging around in a station. The remix of the music they had at the fanfest shows that theres more RealX can do then floaty, spacey background music for mining and station work.
Basically guys, you can give a Yes or No answer. A yes or no plus what you listen to or would like to hear them do might get CCP to consider building up the track lists to include EVE inspired, flavored versions of what you like. If anything it could at least let them give their music department more liberty.
I saw a shirt in the evestore for Roxxor, has anyone heard them? Do they do music for Eve? If its rock then that would be cool to have even more variety. I'd love to see "eve classical", "eve electro" and "eve rok" play lists that you can select from.
