There is nothing wrong with the economy. Everything is working as intended as evidenced by lots of cheap ships and mods and plenty of money to buy them with.
Discuss. Things are only impossible until they are not. |

It'll be interesting to see where the prices will be when Incursions get a decrease, bounties are "normalized", drones have bounties, and the bots get the boot.
I wish mining was more fun though . |

You just want to go back to the days when only the 1% had battleships. That would ruin nullsec by removing hellcat fleets. Stealth 0.0 nerf. Things are only impossible until they are not. |

Also I'm happy to see Zyd prices going back to their old days value, and I'm not saying that just because I have a big pile to sell when the price is right

Sharp rise in mineral prices before it balances out as more people turn to mining as a viable profession iskwise and supply comes back |

That would only have been maybe the first half year of EVE and isn't that much different then how titans now (though Titans shouldn't be combat ships, but more like mobile stations). http://go-dl.eve-files.com/media/corp/Tobiaz/sig_complaints.gif
How about fixing image-linking on the forums, CCP? I want to see signatures! |

i guess im happy whit the economy if we manage to keep the "ooh ahh" effect of titans, but think they have started to lose that effect as well. |

Everyone seems to want to suggest that the solution to the eve inflation is to reduce the money supply...
There is a second option that occurs to me that could 'cool' things down a bit... increase the mineral supply.
increase all mining and refining yields by 10% for a little while and observe the effect. That way you're not intentionally screwing mission runners and ratters it seems... in fact, increasing the mineral supply might just help everyone. Miners, mission runners, pvp'rs, incursion runners. All the sudden, your money buys 10% more stuff. Things get cheaper and no one suffers.
Just a thought.

In my opinion, the best way to increase mineral supply is to actually make the activity itself enjoyable, but for the life of me I have no idea how to do it. |

Anotherway to increase materials is to allow moon goo production in wormholes to pop up along with ring mining. I'd also love to see sleeper incursions into null,lo & hi sec so we'd get a crack at our own nano ribbons salvage in other spaces as well An' then [email protected], he come scramblin outta the Terminal room screaming "The system's crashing! Yeah would be nice for losses to actually mean something again, and yeah guess you'd have to think of a different strategy instead of everybody shoot him.... now everyone shoot him... now everyone shoot him |

What we need is some sort of yardstick for comparative purposes. One might be, how long does it take the average player to buy their first battlecruiser? This is a good phase of career development that is governed by training and "saving up for." For instance, if player A a few years ago managed to get into one (that cost, say 40,000,000) in three months, but player B is using lowered NPC bounties to purchase a higher priced ship (say about 60,000,000 for the sake of discussion) there would be an expected increase in how long one would have to play to get to the same position of the other. If it took an average of three months for player A. What would the average be for player B?
If there's a significant jump in time, say a month and a half, you're looking at a direct result of inflation + CCP pulling the only levers they have available to them. If the price of the BC steadily rises, then the time would steadily increase proportionately. We'd have evidence of how the economy itself is affecting the player experience. Can you envision a condition where in three months player A got to the same place player B got to in six months? Then ask yourselves, if you were new, would it be "fun" having to wait that long to get into that next phase of the game? Anyone with any sense has already left town. |

Yes but then losing ships would actually mean something, and slowing rising thru the ranks would have its benefits
As of now you can go to nullsec, rat for a week and have enough for a carrier
For example since a lot of people can easily afford the meta 4 and T2 version of mods, buying anything lower tiered is a joke.... this should make those meta 2-3 mod actually mean something again
If CCP done this earlier we wouldn't have Super Caps Online in null |

If masternerdguy says A, then you can be fairly certain that -¼A. So we can be fairly certain that the economy is not working fine.
