i'm getting up to 90% for EM and 86% for thermal, any way to raise this? I am using active armor hardeners, both EM are 55%'s and 1 55% for thermal and a 50% for thermal as well as a true sansha energized adaptive membrane. Are there any skills that raise these resistances even more? I see EM/Thermic armor compensation but when I read it, it sounds to me like it only adds resistances when the active hardeners are off.

Add another active hardner or a damage control.

Armor compensation skills gives a bonus to all passive resist mods too, so it will increase the effectivness of your EANM.
Some ship have resistance bonuses.
Damage control gives you some extra resists.
Gang bonus + gang mods.

I added a damage control with 14% and it didnt go up at all, same with EM compensation lv 1, didnt change any except when they are inactive, went from 62% to 64% but stayed at 90% with hardeners on.

Armor and shield compensation doesn't affect active modules, only passive and hardners that aren't currently active.
So you're seeing the correct behavior.

Edited by: EFT Warrior on 06/11/2008 01:53:28 98.5% em/97.6% thermal on a broadsword with 6 em/thermal estamel's hardeners and em/thermal rigs and a DCU II.
With my skills of course.
Now for armor tanking it's a little more difficult since no minmatar armor ship has high em/thermal resists, but you could do it with an amarr HAC.

Edited by: Azuse on 06/11/2008 01:51:59 Max theoretical is 99.99999.... since stacking makes 100% impossible, picking a ship with high native resists and boosting them is the best way to go if you're after something specific, that's how people get dictors to tank a dd. I think the highest i've ever flown with was 98.6% kinetic on an ishtar in a plex (poor guristas) but passing 99.6 would be possible if i'd bought shineyer fitting. -------------------------

Depends on the ship. Some Minnie ships have a massive base EM resist (~92% iirc). Keep in mind damage control units do not have stacking penalties with any other armour/shield resistance mods, whereas all other armour OR shield mods do (including rigs).
You can also use deadspace gear for that extra oomph. I'm pretty sure a Domi of mine (65% base) is at 92% EM using 2 core-x type active EM hardeners alone.
It's more a matter of how much isk you want to spend.
Get Eve Fitting Tool and play around.
