I have 2 MacBook Pros running 10.5.5 on each. And I've seen some pretty wonked out graphics as of late. One MacBook Pro is a 2ghz Core2 with ATI Radeon XT1600 w/128mb of VRAM, and the other is one of the new ones, 2.4ghz Core2, and the new NVIDIA/9600/9400m combo.
Here are 2 screenshots I've captured.

Do not post images, it's against the rules. Post links o the images instead.
The bug has been around for ages and is well known. It's neither related to the new client nor to the latest Leopard update. And it has nothing to do with your graphic card.
No, they are not going to fix it, because they blame it on a bug in Apple's code. The bug is there (Apple confirmed), but this is no reason not to implement a workaround, IMO.

I disagree. Enough people have experienced such similar chronic stability problems that you can't call it anything except failure. Just because a few people run it with few or no problems doesn't mean that it's just fine.
Microsoft had a 33% failure rate on the XBOX 360. Just because the other 66% had few problems doesn't mean that it was a success. It meant that it was a product with a ridiculously high failure rate. Just like the EVE client on linux and osx.
I say this as a formerly somewhat stable user (crashes every day or two, then crashes every few minutes after latest patch, then crashes a couple times an hour after rollback). On the MBP as well as the high end desktop.
As for offering no workaround on the graphic glitch because "it's apples" problem... That would be more reasonable if the problem occurred for other games, too. Somehow developers of other games that operate on OSX don't encounter that problem. Granted, their development environment and tools may not be the same - but the point is that whatever they have implemented has worked for them and theoretically CCP could do the same if they actually cared to.
Now, priority-wise... let's put fixing that little (annoying, sure) glitch somewhere below stability and premium content which should come first.

running 3 clients 90% stable on a Mac Pro for months. not my definition of epic fail.
Are there issues? yeah. is it an epic failure? uhm, no.
Ever try to play EA's Battlefield 2142 on a Mac? yeah that's epic fail.
While all answers are replies, not all replies are answers.

Again, just because a portion of the playerbase doesn't suffer from the remarkably high failure rate experienced by the other portion doesn't make it not a failure. It means it works for you. That doesn't mean it works for everyone.
Mine worked fine for months, until the newest patch that rendered it nearly useless. I didn't go around saying "this is a fabulous client because it works for me!" because quite obviously plenty of other people have been having issues long before the latest patch.
