Ok, so thrusters have "max velocity bonus" and also have thrust attributes. What do each of these do exactly? Also inertia stabilizers have an "inertia multiplier". I've look at my ship info and cannot see an inertia attribute the multiplier would affect. Don't really understand these things and how to calculate what is best for my ship.

Yeah, it's confusing. Basic diference is: Thrusters and modules like that will make your ship go faster, Inertia stabs and such will make your ship turn/align quicker, and nanoes wil make your ship align quicker AND give you more extra speed when using an afterburner or Microwarpdrive. All are stacking-penalized, at least after next tuesday... ALL are good if you want a quick and agile ship, still, even after tuesday. Yea, that makes sense. Is there somewhere that has more information on how to calculate this with the different attributes they have? Working with a small power grid, I like to do exact calculations and compare items to see how to best fit my ship.

Ok, I guess I missed it. I found an Inertia Modifier attribute on my ship. Not sure EXACTLY how it works, but a little better now that I can compare that on ships.
Still not sure about the two attributes on thrusters...

Edited by: Taross on 09/11/2008 03:45:03 Try Eve Fitting Tool (EFT) which is linked in the stickies here. Great for playing around with ship fittings without actually spending in-game ISK.

The EvE developers do have funny ways of expressign things, yes.
The "Max Velocity Bonus" mostly applies to ships fitting modules that were designed for the next tier up (I.E cruisers fitting battleship afterburners, etc.) and denotes the maximum bonus you will get fromt he module, period. So, if your ship is a frigate, and the module you're fitting gives a 115% maximum velocity bonus, your frigate will gain 1155 in speed.
The thrust property mostly comes into play when fitting the module on a ship BIGGER than it's intended for; i.e. fitting a 1MN AB on a cruiser. There, the max bonus you get is modified by both your ship's mass AND how much 'thrust" the module produces - sum total: You won't get the max bonus EVAR in this situation. The maths on this are fairly opaque, and apply to both AB, MWDs, and both thruster mods and thruster rigs.

All ships you may notice have a "inertial modifier" that isn't really well defined - inertial stabilizers increase this figure by a set amount. Ships with a higher inertial modifier maneuver faster.

Thanks. That makes thing a little clearer.
