What would be the best way to go, artillery or autocannon? Can anyone point out the pros and cons.
I have read all over the forum that hurricane should be the best BC and i really love the design. But would it be better to go for a BS, i had heard rumors about that minnie BS sucks.
But what can i use my Hurricane for and how should it be used?

Hurricane = god tier
One of EVE's top ten if you ask me, specially when looking at effectiveness / price.
Also, it couldn't be more versatile:
-Dual repped -Plated -Passive shield tank -Artillery or autocannons -Extra cap warfare (dual neuts) or extra DPS -ECM drones or damage drones.
Just mix and match all those possibilities until you find your favourite, and stick to it. ---<---@ JackFalcord |

For what purpose (solo, v. small gang (<5 people), small gang (<10 people), anti-support) and in what environment?

Sound promising, i will go for the hurricane then.
Right now it is just for solo purpose (mission), very soon small gang mission. Later 0.0.
For how long can i use my hurricane, can i use it for lvl 4's and 0.0 combat/ratting

No. I mean, you could, but it'd be sortof expensive and pointless, BS do them faster/easier/more AFK friendly.

Edited by: Burn Mac on 10/11/2008 12:13:24 As a minmatar player the hurricane is my dream goal that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. But im used to some movement and agility the only time i actually fly around not as agile as im used to is with the 1600 mm plated rupture wich still is quite ok.
But my question then is, how agile is the Hurricane with 1600 mm plate i know there is a 2 x LSE version of flying the hurricane but i just see that one getting pwned by every other tier 2 BC except maybe the Myrmidon. So what im thinking is the hurricane is quite versatile wich fittings on it should i use against what ships? Like this:
Dual Neut 1600 mm plated Cane: Good against Harbinger, Drake not so much.
TL;DR: Wich fitting against what ships?

I duel rep/cap booster with a gyrostabilizer and 425mm's arties are good in fleets, i've taken many frags from the Alpha only the 720mm's work for this.

The Hurricane with 1600mm RT is agile enough to be honest. It's not terribly fast (and is somewhat slower post patch), but it does the job - and I've even caught&killed nanoships and stuff with it (without interdiction maneuvers). Requires a lot of overheating and creative flight, and the nanoship making a error eventually ofc.

It's good vs cap unboosted Harbringers, but if you run into a cap boosted one it will not do that much, as the cap booster can counteract your neuting.
Anyway, vs other BCs you preety much want 220s+HAMs+damage drones and go for maximum damage (in a plated Hurricane). Bear in mind you will not win over a competently flown Drake without at the very least a LG slaveset.
Vs HACs both work really, both the D180s+Neuts will shred them (and even cap boosted tanked HACs take offense to dual medium neuts) as will 220s+HAMs unless you run into a implanted+exile boosted+faction fit.
Naturally plated fits offer best performance vs other BCs, although be wary of trying to 'max out' your EHP by fitting trimarks - you become very slow and gimp your range by not fitting falloff rigs, which could potentially kill you vs a falloff rigged Hurricane or a Harbringer (or, in fact, a Drake).
Vs smaller stuff, you want either ECM drones or medium neuts, and unless you have Warrior IIs / light ECMs a plain mediocre skilled T2 fit Crow will solo you even in a D180mm AC II fit, so watch out for interceptors.
Kaileen is the man to ask about Hurricane fittings, he's godly with them Sig removed, inappropriate link. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] ~Saint |

There are a lot of mission Hurricane threads you can find to fill out the other slots. With AB, tracking computers and Gyrostabs you orbit at 400m+ and take care of business. Piece of cake...
Forget Level IV's, it'll take you so long to kill a BS that your other wrecks will vanish when they reach the 2 hour time limit...
