Or go AFK along a specific route.
Turn it on for the first, turn it off for the second.

I'm not sure I know what you're saying.
Does that mean it actually does what I think it should? Because it surely doesn't.

What do you think it should do? Regardless, what it actually does is turn off the autopilot every time you reach a system which is marked as a waypoint, instead of containing on to the final destination non-stop. -

I'm honestly not trying to be particularly obtuse.
What I mean is, it doesn't disable the autopilot at each waypoint. But according to the wording it should. Or shouldn't it?

No, it doesn't.

Edited by: sableye on 12/11/2008 17:16:14 you have to make sure you set multiple way points yourself, if you just set autopiot once your only way point is your destination not every system you jump through

It does for me. Are you sure you're not confusing systems in general and waypoints?

is this broken since Quantum Rise? if not, then yes, it does work - or at least, it's worked for me for as long as i can remember. every few weeks i do a 'round-up' of items and datacores - i send my guy off on an X-number of jumps and add each place i have datacores or items as a waypoint, hit Autopilot and it moves me to each waypoint and then stops and waits for player interaction. ++ ++ ++ ++ ++ ++ ++

Not every system on the way is considered a waypoint? That might explain why I misunderstand this feature.
It doesn't explain why the system itself denominates every system on the way as waypoint. (Hint: "Clear all waypoints")

all that does is show your route not showing way points

OK! I misunderstood the system.
Thanks to everyone here having the patience to explain it to me. I was a bit thick.
