Game designers = company that wants to make sales & grow profit. In order to grow profit they have to attract new players. They dumb down the game and widen the base they can draw on. They may lose a few older players due to their decision to make their time in game worth less than it used to be. However, they more than make up for that with all the new players who are attracted due to the new, easier gameplay.
I'll fill in the missing objectives.
1) Hungry designers with nothing to lose and rock-bottom inhibitions create a truely awe inspiring and lustful product. 2) Enough people love what the designers did, and the product develops a reputation. 3) In an effort to exploit this reputation, the designers abandon those who made them what they are, and either seek to further recruit n00bs or out-right sell-out to a bigger corporation who has all the n00bs available from WoW the next door NOC (Bob! Toss a Cat6 cable from the switch over the firewall... let's get these two worlds working together, today!) 4) Customers who clung and fought so hard for what they really want (a truely worthwhile product), are abandoned by greed. 5) The designers who actually produced something, only in the hardest of times, got lazy and careless of the Customers. 6) The designers' bosses all are victims of legalized extortion and racketeering as they are forced to cater to fools who give them money... investors, share holders et al. They only care about either paying the investors back, or attracting new ones to pay the old ones back. 7) All the incoming n00bs pre-equipped with baby pacifiers most resemble mindless clams at the grocery store, randomly open and close with 15 dollars in the shells for the taking. These dumb-consumers become an attractive source for paying off the extorting investors. And, Electronic Arts has a lot of these clams... so the bosses, in disregard to their customers and often to their own designers, sell off to Electronic Arts to get those clams. Afterall, it's only the difference of having EA printed on the box right?
SWG-NGE? On my EVE forums? No way!
