Me and a friend like to pirate but since this new expansion and the nerfs on webs it seems pointless. For example the other night we tackle this domi on gate we get 2 webs on him and he was still able to do a little over 100ms and make it back to the gate wtf eh! another incident we caught this Demios and we had rapier on him with dual webs.To our amazment he was able to do 400ms+ and get outside our hictors reach and warp away. Last and 3rd example my friend decides to see how fast his Dread can go with 2 webs on him from a rapier ......get this with good skills and a proper setup on the rapier the dread was still doing 18ms with 2 WEBS on him!! Now we dont like blobs and we like very small gangs that are easy to manage and also the thrill of a good fight with out alliance drama and laggy fleet fights but all that is gone and it seems ccp is catering to the carbears. Now what are we supposed to do if u cant stop a Battleship and a Dread with 2 webs from moving....? to me this absurd.
Plz no flaming or trolling I would like to know your thoughts on this are Webs almost useless now? |

Again with the whole blooming tree of problems that get caused by huge changes like this. True it makes it easier to orbit but it also makes it a lot harder to keep someone from escaping to a gate or station. Only way to fix this would be to introduce MORE problems :-/. _______________

I know what you mean, but is it really a big deal that a dread can go 18 m/s dual webbed? Not like he's getting anywhere.

Sounds like he was using a MWD.
if you use a web and a scram (which now turns off MWD) you get more slow down than with 2 webs before. Also he's locked down.
Basically it's a boost to afterburners while making it easier to keep people from running away.

its not that the dread was going anywhere thats the problem its just that a Dread shopuldnt be moving at all with 2 webs on them.
If anything this makes nano-fit just that more potent! Whats the point of slowing everything down buut the same time u nerf webs kinda defeats the purpose in my opinion. ---

Edited by: Jim Hazard on 13/11/2008 04:28:05 And you never have seen battleships with speed mods getting back to the gate with doublewebs or even more webs on them because they were already to fast once they got into web range before the patch?

Well, if they're castrated then they won't breed, but, then again, uncontrolled web breeding wasn't being the problem, was it? :-)
Totally agree on the rest though, just couldn't help commenting on that one :-)

option 1: you lie
option 2: you just wardec carebear corps which tend not to fit mwds on their ships usually and just got unlucky that you once fished out 1 out of 1000 who had one fitted.
edit: option 3: you allways had a bhaalgorn with you which would instantly be able to web the target as soon as he uncloaks after jumping.

Edited by: Sidrok on 13/11/2008 04:51:01 Of course if they Mwd before u get webs on they would still make it sometimes But what i was posting about num-nuts is that they were webbed before even turning on a mwd as they tried to go into warp. They then are webbed and pointed by the Hictor and only after that did they turn on the mwd and were still able to move enough to escape.

in that case i guess you just did not have enough firepower ;). 2 webs + to high dps ships and a bs does have very litle chances to make it back to the gate... especially when its some1 who firsts just sits there and waits for the hic to get into web range b4 he decides to go back to the gate ;)
i mean.. when you are going back to the gate at 100m/s it takes you at least 120 seconds to get back to the gate.. seems to be more than enough time to take down a BS in most cases.

Ok lets get this straight all u have to say is bring more ships... So now u need a blob in order to kill one freaking ship?
We had one blaster mega one phobos at the time doubt if even 2 blaster megas would had been enough cause all u need is a buffer/passive tank + MWD and u can pretty much get away everytime.
My mega is pretty good lots of dps 9 millon sp in gunnery bs 5 5%dmg implants and u say bring more dps. it was one domi why do i need more dps for him i can kill him solo as for warp scrams they are the most usless thing I have seen so far 9k meter range for a t2 thats even less then a web.

Meh, the annoying part is that even 2x webs only match a 80% web - so you still need that scrambler to prevent MWD-ing ships from moving properly, which sucks to be honest.
The 60% number is just far too low. For solo work, it makes tackling a game of using 9km scramblers and a web (or two). Which blows.

I've started using a Pilgrim for solo work. My god those things are good now...
But back on topic, seems like you need to fit a Warp Scrambler and dual webs on that Mega. Phobos gets the first point, then you burn to the target (I'm assuming you have a MWD fitted on that Mega...) and whack the scram and webs on. IF you can do that, the target is going nowhere. Otherwise, he's escaped a 2 man gatecamp.
Your biggest problem is going to be when someone in a properly setup HAC or some AF's decide to fight back and murder your mega. "I got soul but I'm not a soldier" |

Pretty gimped, that's for sure.
Neutered is an apt term. They nerfed nanos, but they nerfed nano tackle as well, meaning that nothing changes, they just do the same old thing as ever before a tad bit slower. And you still can't do a whole lot about it.
You could coast through webs on inertia before Quantum Fail, and now it's even easier.

Or you can use a web and 2pt scram....magically it stops them from going anywhere...at the same time, you actually have to RISK your ship.

Actual you are 2 Month to late since this questions came up in the frist time on sissi, even yesterday there was a big topic about it in the general Forum.
It is absolutly correct that tackling at Gates and Stations now is preaty meh for solo and small scale Players, there is not a real solution to it in the end than brining more people atm, what is kind of bad for the gameplay in Low Sec.
Ignore the adept or die Trolls, just a statment of players that want to look smart without having a real clue. ---- Nerf Tank - Boost Gank!
