A few patches ago, possibly when the hurricane was introduced, we also got a 25% increase in ship hit-points. Not all were given exactly 25%, but that's not the point.

I remember that the hp boost was supposed to be 50%, in fact, but for some reason it was pulled back to 25% with a "we'll wait and see" caveat from CCP.

That linked blog mentions something about introducing hp boosts incrementally rather than all in one go, to paraphrase.
CCP, what is your opinion on the hp situation after waiting and seeing? Players, now that ships have slowed down, what do you think about more hp? Is more necessary? Why / why not? --- Not happy with something in EVE? An emo whine will doubtless help your cause. |

Give another 25%. Then:
a) introduce weapons that force heat generation (remote overheating some1) on target with intent of disabling specific systems.
OR
b) introduce wapons that target specific subsystems in order to destroy them.
AND
d) give t1 frigs speicifc abilities for these weapons
OR
e) make a new t2 frig that has bonuses on these weaponsystems.
Either case gives EVE more tactics = makes it more fun (maybe not for noobs, but definitely for new pirate wannabes).

Wait, what, are your serious?
Hell no, lower all sub cap hp, ffs, can you actually let us kill each other for the love of god?
Right now, there is NO way to stop a tanked battleship from re-approaching a gate and jumping through, solo.
Now i know, the "EVE is not single player" crowd may jump in, but i say, screw you, the devs made the statement that they wanted to keep "small gang and solo combat viable" after the speed nerf.
They failed hard.
I would say 80% of solo combat (I would say lower but lets be honest, and admit the rarity of catching belt ratters at all anymore) occurs on gates or stations.
Current Omni tanks, and enormous HP buffers make it nearly impossible to "win" a fight between 2 solo battleships. Re-approach and jump, or dock, and the fight is over.
I would like to see a non fleet fight break down of the number of kills that happened in the days pre QR patch, compared to the number post QR, to see how many people were getting away. Then compare again 3 months from now, and back.
Its stupid the ease with witch you can simply disengage now.
No, no more HP on the damn ships, they will never die then. |

To add additional 25% more HP to all ships is a very bad idea. The reason is that some ships are designed for DMG and others for tanking. As such, some ships would need to be adjusted to balance damage or other abilities to counteract the HP boost.
When it comes to fleet fights this boost will have a negative impact on small gang fights but will do nothing for large engagements where the ships are shot by 10+ ships of the same class.

side effect of this was that alpha strike was nuked out of the water leaving minmatar alpha snipers struggling and passive regen tanks where boosted (look at drake), also buffer tanks vs active tank got a bit unbalanced. This would make all of these problems much much worse so you should include idea's how to stop these problems from becoming full fledged major flaws before you do this.

Yer, personally I think hp boosts heavily favor resist tanks, such as caldari and amarr. gal and mini get shafted a little. I was just curious to see where CCP was on this issue, given their statements from the time when they originally introduced the change way back when. --- Not happy with something in EVE?
