I'm having a doubt:
In the info Crane says it allows fitting of a "covert ops cloacking" the doubt is that the convert ops can not be staring at the crane because the CPU is very small.
Item: Covert Ops Cloaking Device II - Fitting CPU -> 10,000 ft
Ship: Crane - Fitting CPU -> 285 ft
I'm looking at the wrong cloaking? or is it really a problem?
I thank all the replay

Edited by: Karl Mattar on 18/11/2008 05:32:15 Per the Crane description in-game:
Role Bonus: can fit covert ops cloaks
Transport Ships Skill Bonus: -10% bonus to cpu need of covert ops cloaks
Looks to me like something else must be at play here. I wonder if that's a typo, and it's actually a -100% bonus. Otherwise, you are right, it don't go...

The description might not be 100% correct, but it can fit the cov op cloaking device. Tried and tested in game.

It also has a role bonus that isnt in the description, so it can fit it. ---------------------------------------------

Yep. All blockade runners get a role bonus: -98.5% to covert ops cloak CPU use. So the CPU use of the cloak starts at 150 and is reduced by 15 per Transport Ships skill level. -- Gradient forum |

Edited by: Karox Lominax on 18/11/2008 06:59:27 After testing on day 1 of the patch, it seems that blockade runners get a 98.5% CPU reduction before any mods are factored in.
The base CPU requirement is 150tf which is further reduced by 10% per level of your transport ships skill.

It's not the fitting you need to worry about. It's the time spent waiting at gates, for the session timer to expire, so you can warp/cloak to the next gate.

The hidden CPU bonus seems to apply to ALL cloaks. Was surprised to see my improved cloaking device taking only .8 CPU or something like that.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

There's no need to remain cloaked most of the time, so staying 30 seconds at every gate is a choice you make on your own.
Some of us know how to balance risk and efficiency.
