Edited by: YouEatLard on 19/11/2008 05:03:41 To my knowledge, when taking a break from an agent, corporation, or even the game will not cause a standings loss.
I say this because: I have taken long breaks from the game I still have a perfect 10 an agent from the State War Academy that has been there sinse I started the game (2004, and I know I haven't done anything with that agent or for the Academy). I have several corps that I have gotten rep with corporations for the sole purpose of doing R&D. I have taken those corporations to within .05 of what is required to do R&D with their agents and then stopped doing missions for them. There are a couple that I stopped even doing R&D with as I have changed to other corps to get different types of cores. That being said, I have not lost rep with those corporations either. (Just double checked). According to my character sheet, and their info, I still have the rep required to use their top end agents.
I will say that there can be a difference between the numbers for an agent depending on where you look. When I go to talk to a couple of my agents effective standing shown on dialog box (talking to the agent) may show an effective rating that is different from the effective standing shown on the dialog box for that NPC's information (show info).
Example: When I ask Kakukainen for a mission the conversation box shows me at 9.9 When I right click on the agent, go to show info, and look under the standings tab, it shows 9.79.
This is most likely because the conversation dialog box takes whatever is the highest rating, the agent, the corporation, or the faction.
There are agents and corps that I can no longer use due to negative standings with the owning faction, however the standing for that agent and corp has not changed.
Example: My Gallente rep has fallen to -2.05. Duvolle still shows at 6.90 and Sitaleere Beene still shows 6.90. My standings haven't changed with the agent or the corp, but I still can't use that agent due to the low faction rep.
The only place I have ever seen standings change is at the faction level. The Caldari Navy and it's agents didn't move when I did missions for Duvolle or Sisters of Eve. My Caldari State standings did drop whenever I did some normal missions and when I did storyline missions for Duvolle or Sisters of Eve.
