Get a Pilgrim. Seriously, it's a better blaster ship than the Arazu. You lose 25% gun damage, but gain a huge drone damage increase to offset it, and you trade a useless damp bonus for a useful tracking disruptor bonus. All you really lose is the scramble range bonus, but since you aren't going to be engaging outside of unbonused scram range anyway, it's not much of a loss.
(And yes, blaster Pilgrims suck, but they're better than blaster Arazus.) |

Yes i fully understand this. Would it be better to go with 200mm Rails II and try to keep the target between 13-16km, run ab with 2x trackingdisruptor?
Im just trying to get the max out of this ship, because some people where saying arazu would be 'better' after the patch. |

And yes 200 rails:) |

In Blaster range >>> Use ECM burst, scrambler and scan res damps. Get sensor damp rigs cause are cheap.

I have almost maxed damp skills, but if you go with a db scram and try to damp em down to below 15km'ish.... not really working well when i tried it ingame. If i would go with damps on it, a normal disruptor setup is way better since you can keep them scrammed much further out. But, since a longrange scram doesnt switch off mwd, i should be fitting a mwd to control range, making cap and tank a big problem. And, this basicly limits your targets bc+bs, but you going to have a big problem with dps at that range, and non replacable drones...
I know its really tricky, but i want try to max out the setup builded around a 18k scrambler... I tried a 200mm Rail II setup with light armor tank, but that makes it really unpossible to use damps at all since you wont be able to damp the lot of the ships down to less than 14kmish. So, with the initial setup i posted, i tried to combine the good stuff of a ab with blasters and trackingdisruptors, but yes your wasting a (arguable worthless damp) bonus in that case. Whatever you fit on the ship, your range of targets will be VERRY small..
ed. Just had a go with my setup, had to bail aka didnt worked out as i hoped it would
ed.2 How about a ab/speed/shieltanked/trackingdisruptor setup?

Arazu wld be handy in a gang though, especially on post-qr gates (some gates larger with bigger ship spawn radius) for getting point. EVE history

Not this on though, cause that's a Scram fitted to that thing. |

I do realize solo is kinda dead, but im sure that if i look carefull for certain targets (like alot of missionrunners etc) it can work properly. Im just having a hard time finding a decent setup that makes use of the scrambler fitted. |

Stick with the sensor damps and use the ship bonus. 2x or 3x sensor damps with scan resolution + ECM drones ruins someone's day.

I'm not the one who came up with the requirements of:
1) Must use 7.5km scram and shut off MWD. This means no damps, as you can't damp the target's lock range enough to keep you safe at 18km.
2) Must be useful solo. This means damage mods + shield tank, as you need your low slots for dps to break a target before its friends show up, and you need at least some tank to avoid being insta-popped.
Given those requirements, the setup I posted is probably the best you're going to get. ----------- Blaster sig removed for now, pending those "changes we've been working on all day". CCP, don't screw this up.

It wont stop another recon or a sensor boosted battleship / battlecruiser; not at that range. 25-30km is safer. But then you can't use the warp scrambler... |

Actually, last i checked (and it was recently), 3 Damps + Rigs takes 250km to 12.5km, and if you go the other route, it'd take a falcon 60+ seconds to lock you... I'm pretty sure he'd be dead by then. He would be if i was the arazu :)
Blasterazu ftw ;)

Sure. Get a friend in an arazu with 3 damps and 2 damp rigs. Fit yourself with however many boosters you need to reach 250km and then send me my money k?
Thanks :)

yah if its a cruiser or smaller. BC/BS won't go that low and if they have a sensor booster then you're not doing anything at all. If you're doing damps you need a 24+km point and get out to 50ish km to have any reliable hope.

With all skils at 4, 3 damps and 2 rigs, you'll have a hard time getting a ship down to 12km. If it's got an SB, then you've no chance.
To get a ship to target up to 250km, you'd need a few SB's. An arazu against that ship would be pointless.
As for the Falcon vs Arazu, it's a non match. Arazu's don't have SB's, where Falcon's\Rooks always do (to get the first lock\jam). So you'd be perma jammed before you can say 'Jahova'

A couple QR facts:
2x Phased Muon with skills at level 4 and 2x damp rigs knock nearly every ship with a sensor booster II (lock range script) to below 35km without breaking a sweat. Most cruisers down to 25km.
Ignore tank. If youre tanking, you screwed up. This is an extremely delicate ship, if you get targeted you screwed up and no tank can save you from that. Those slots are better used for making the ship work the way it's designed to.
Forget scrams.
And recon rule #1: Dont engage if you cant win! Warping cloaked is our most powerful weapon.

Either way; Scrambler or Disruptor-Arazu's have very different fittings atm. I can't decide myself which one I prefer most, so currently I'm running one of each.
