Edited by: RedSplat on 21/11/2008 13:17:15 For anyone wondering why the hordes of SN aren't posting here i invite them to investigate the bolded word. Suffice to say Tchell has support amongst his finely crafted Salvage hunters.
Would i vote for him: Maybe. Depends if anyone better comes along
So, i have a question to stimulate (or rather start?) discussion-
Tchell, what are your thoughts on NPC AI?
At current it is practically non-existant. Implementing intelligent NPC's has the potential to radically change the professions of mission running, trading (imagine if an NPC starts a bidding war/undercuts you...) and the laughable rats in low/nullsec (now personally i want to see NPC pirates scanning people down and ransoming them, maybe busting gatecamps- with proper pvp fits so killing them is profitable). I don't want to set the world on fire |

I'll second making lowsec profitable so it draws Empire dwellers there.
Then all you have to fix ratters packing cloaks on standard ships and logofski,
Come to think of it that raises an interesting point about meta gaming I don't want to set the world on fire |

Pirate LP missions # 2
Poor old NPCs been gettin griefed off carebears for years. even with 80 odd force they still get pwned by some noob in a raven. time to give them a hand, Pirate players should be notified of Carebear missions so they can side with the NPC's - this would stop Missions being a pure PVE isk earner and bring some much needed risk. CCP wants more PVP - well faction warfare #2 carebears vs pirates + pirate NPCS. they might actually have to bring a friend god forbid.
Pirate LP's.
Pirates should get lovin too. Carebears get plenty of mission hawt loot and faction goodies. if you are pirategoodness you should be rewarded with mucho LP for pirate faction toys when you carry out above piracy missions
just some random ideas but there is plenty CCP could be doing instead of making concord comfort blankets for the risk averse.
Now those are some very interesting ideas. Would they get immediately shot down by the carebear hordes though- the idea of people being able to legally enter thier mission and kill them would horrify a large proportion of subscribers I don't want to set the world on fire |

it would make fitting more balanced for both sides, pirates have to tank for the NPC aggro of the opposing side, carebears have to tank for the aggro of other players - both sides have to eventually kill the other player to get the big prize, carebears cant cry its not fair since you start of on a equal foot i.e usual jumpgate restrictions on ship classes so its all down to battle of skills/fitting different race ships which is "balanced PVP". that way we get some nice NPC-iskies plus carebear tears.
Im sure CCP could package it all up as new Piracy themed expansion. "Eve: Pirates Gold!"
YARR!
Empire dwelling Mission Runners don't want risk, lief of all from other players. Sorry i mean 'least' of all there.
Most of them just want to grind level 4's and chat to corpmates, and i think we would all be surprised (or not as the situation likely warrants ) to discover just how many of the carebears running lvl 4's in empire are the alts of nullsec dwellers and evil blinkys- for whom having a MR alt is a smart move that nets them a solid and dependable income.
CCP aren't going to intentionally **** off most of the subscribers by changing Highsec Missions drastically.
The best way to see changes like those you proposed through is to cloak them in the guise of making missions more dynamic and exciting- as not even the most jaded isk machine actually enjoys the missions themselves.
(i cant help but think the guys that live in npc corps for years at a time talking to no-one are either borderline insane or some sweatshop afk missioning with a bank of pc's ) I don't want to set the world on fire |

Pompous, gatecrashing and attempting to hijack threads of other CSM hopefuls is very bad form indeed.

Confirming I'm a terrible Carebear

I can attest that there is a significant membership of SN more interested in killing Missionrunners than they are salvaging
