I think that it would be nice gesture to 425 railgun users and it does not require any changes to tracking formulae.

I would love 150km ;), but here is a proposal, let's have one distance for each player to configure in the configuration window, and that will be used by his client as the extra option. This can even be updatable only by logging in, so not that much room for a mess.. In terms of reality play, if I can hit a target navigationaly within 15km from many a.u. away, I should be able to do so for 150km even with some margin of error. While we are at it, can we also have the configurable Afterburner/MWD activation on "approaching gate" or :seeting course for docking range" events?

And i would like 'custom' presets of warping in. I even posted it in eve idea lab some time ago.
From programmers point of view, its 5 mins of work alltogether :) -- Portfolio (currently .PL only) - nestor.art.pl

Edited by: DeeCo on 10/07/2004 12:47:29 I would like a graduated slide bar on the HUD, that allows you to select a distance that you warp to "any" object, that is warpable.
ie slide bar from 15km to 60km and then when i dbl click the station/planet it warps me at 60km (This is now my default warp distance unless i change it) Thus reducing the right click, slect object, select warp, select range, select warp to.
phew 5 steps eliminated :D cause all I do now is dbl click the object :) wheeeee

I would very much like a 5km option. However I don't think it would be all that good for the game to have that, and neither would a 100km warp in option IMHO. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

Lets not get sidetracked by suggestion of the 5km option to warp to another ship. That is not what I am asking at all.
Obviously there are implications on game balance with 60km+ warp, which I why I dont advocate any specific distance.
I am slightly tired of smug interceptor pilots who can easily get to my ship whether I warp 15 or 60 km from a gate. They have speed. Why cant I have the option to warp in so far away from them to have time to toast their asses with my new ubersniper anti matter 425 railguns while they try to close in?

To warp to another ship? You want a 100km warp option I want a 5km warp option, you want it to gank interceptors, I want it to gank you. No.
Carebear combat is boring. Don't encourage it.
* When you read about a 10 vs 10 battle without a single ship loss because they've been fighting at 100km range, you understand the definition of "carebear combat".

Garyus go camp someone else's thread.
Dalman, I see your point. But still I think that it would be more balanced if the interceptors had to fear a battleship warping in too far away from them to be able to close the distance before being locked. Heck I probably would not even use that option but if it was there frigates would have to think about this. As it is I think that the balance is a little skewed against BS.
Either way, you can still do this with bookmarks but its a lot of work and takes advanced preparation so thats why having this as an option would be nice because you would not have to do that work and frigates would still have to fear it.
So this is just an idea.

I want 0km warp in option so I can 'gallente warp scramble' (land on top so that ship can't speed up to enter warp) and toast their asses.
Here, my wish.
Your Heavy Neutron Blaster II perfectly strikes Serpentis Chief Sentinel, wrecking for 660.4 damage.
