You can add your corporation or character API details and have mails fetched to EVE-KILL every 3 hours, and all keys are encrypted. This is incase you dont feel like setting up your own killboard! ;)
Oh, there we go. So if I were to do this, all EVSCO killboards would fetch my "kills?" I've noticed that my losses are already on a few boards. I'm guessing that is because the pilots who destroyed me have their mails fetched?

Yes! Exactly. All 3282 evsco killboards would know you kills/losses (and if it was a corporation, the whole corporations kills/losses)

Everything is now also available via IPv6..
There is no difference between the domain names for IPv4 or IPv6 - both work on both technologies, but if you want to be 100% sure you access an IPv6 address - then look no further than http://ipv6.eve-kill.net
Have fun with it! ;)

Been a while, and there isnt much new to tell - we are looking at starting a new project that will require some coders, but we have yet to decide which language it will be in - or if we will make it opensource or not.
But yeah, we are still here - and we are still awesome!
Keep up the good job of reporting mails! ;)

And server update happened today during a 2+ hours downtime.
What we have switched to is more (or less, depending on your point of view) powerfull than what we had. The new machine is a 16core AMD Opteron, with 32GB Memory - however there is no SSDs so the database performance is lower than before (But, i think we've compensated it in a good way)
What we had before was two quadcore Xeons with 8 and 12GB memory, one with SSD one without.
Please leave a comment with how you experience the killboards speed atm - and if you have any troubles with stuff not loading, or loading incorrectly (Yes, we know there where problems, even before - but were interested in new ones :P )
Anyway, hope that everyone is satisfied with the effort we put into this - also we will announce a new project very soon, that will interest alot of people im sure! ;)

When I click Losses (from the above kb home page), I get "500 - Internal Server Error".

Thanks for all the efforts of your team in support of the killboard engine. But some remarks. Could you make related report of the battles to be more accurate? After the recent start antidrakes firewalls and frendly fire from smartbombs, all such related is messed up. May be separate friendly/hostile based on the standings or if that impossible by recieved/inflicted damage in the battle. Is there any module/add-on with a timeline of the battle? Is it possible to indicate alliance instad of corp of finalblow maker, at the front page?(what ally kill our pilot?)

The overall board is slower now yes, since the database isnt on SSDs anymore - and everything is running in VMs (on ESXi) instead. It made it easier for us to keep everything backed up, and also incase we move server again (who knows) we could easily do just that.
The 500 - Internal Server Error SHOULD!!!!!!!!!! have gone away, it was lighttpd being too limited with its "children", if it crops up again i'd like to know :)

The kill_related stuff is way inacurate, and theres no real way of making it more accurate im afraid (bar recoding it from the bottom up :\) And indicating finalblow for alliance should already be happening - i'll take a look when i get some time :)

1) New server, still tweaking the http server and database server :) 2) Styling might have crapped out due to lighttpd being too limited - i'll look at adding an extra layer of cache to prevent this from happening 3) Seems there is a bug with the comments not showing up after having posted them, but if you load the page again, its there.. dunno what might be causing this - but i'll check it out :) 4)The IRC applet works, the 2nd question it asks, you just press no to (asks if you want to block this potentially unsecure java applet, ofc you dont want to do that :P) 5) See first answer.

Set up kb to work from main site subdomain, http://kb.eve-odessa.com/?a=home instead of http://smart.eve-kill.net/. Took about 15 minutes to contact admin over IRC & set it up? easy enough, thou price could be lower. Then it took few hours wait till my hosting registerd subdomain record update (may be less, i did not check every 15 minutes), now it works. Works with about same speed as b4, no problems so far.

The corp logos in the killboard are still showing the old type, instead of the new - we're still working on the update for the board - but its taking forever.. :\

Well I've been refreshing the page for like the last 2 hours on two different PCs, still no comment section. And I need to leave a comment on it (my corp requires me to drop a comment on a killmail :p) I'd really appreciate if you take a look at it.

Quote: Update3: Well, its taking a bit longer than expected - QUITE A BIT LONGER.. Probably another hour or two :\ sorry Update4: Gosh, who would have thought that importing a database would take this long - its 02:21 in the morning now, and theres still probably 3-4 hours left before its done.. *sigh*..
Glad you tested this against a backup copy first, you know, to check it actually works & know how long your production/live systems would be down for. Also, can't your system be serving up what data is has in its database while it's importing more? Even better, start with the latest and work back? |

Bit hard to test when its actually a completely new server, that will only show it it'll work under the normal load :P
As for serving old data, not doable - anyway, patience still working out the kinks (only slept 4 hours.. :\)

10 hours after the battle the killboard has imported only 2 of the 19 mails. I manually posted the missing mails copying them from other KBs, on a couple of them I get the message "that kill doesnt exist", and it takes forever to actually load and show pages. Previous server worked much better

The API imported and feed importer has been down all night, and is still down for another hour or so. As for the pages taking forever, which pages? :)
Im looking at the board atm and trying to find places where its slower than before - so i can see what makes it slow

Yeah, there is some kind of bug with the comment system that i cant seem to pinpoint.
Beans has apparently seen it before - but hes getting wife aggro, lol.. Will get fixed as soon as we can! :)
edit:// Found the problem, i was a ****** - and set the DNS to point to .37, not .35 :D Every *.killmail.org domain was sent DIRECTLY to the httpd, and not varnish (This also explains why the killmail.org killboards was a bit sluggish.. rofl)

Was probably when i restarted Lighttpd to fix it (fam, a file table cache was stuck doing god knows what.. restarting it all helped) Also lowered the amount of children, lowering the overall responce time of the killboard pages, and also lowered the load of the server, a win win :)

That wasn't doable, cause if we had let the database be up, while we convereted a copy of it - once the copy was done converting and being imported, the other database would be far ahead of the new one.
So it was easier to close it all down, rather than have to do some fancy stuff which would take forever :P
