I assume it has simply been an oversight that smartbombs cannot be grouped. Would a thread like this capture the attention of appropriate persons that might make the correction to the next patch, or should I scribble a bug report (altho, this is not a malfunction as such, is it?)
Cheers,

I agree, if weapons are to be grouped, why not smartbombs? Grouping them can't be "I win- button"

Quote: Which modules are affected by this? Only turrets and launchers for the time being. We do not exclude the possibility of adding new modules to be grouped in the future but this is not currently planned in this release.
This is not an oversight and should be considered a feature suggestion.

Edited by: Tzar''rim on 24/11/2008 17:57:36 Well, there is ofcourse a reason to not fire them at the same time but isn't that up to the user? If he wants to group his SB's then that would be his choice.
Don't see the problem tbh.

i think its because smartbombs are the only weapon that hit people as they are in warp-mode and cannot do anything to react to it.
Most gate campers in lowsec park BS's that can tank the sentry guns and keep several smartbombs running. As people warp in, they get hit by them. haulers, frigates, etc die to these smartbombs before they exit warp.
Grouping the smartbombs I think would kill off any chance of players making it through these warp-in traps as the smartbombs would all hit at the same time causing an insta-pop.

People who have programmable keyboards can already do this - it's been given the green light by CCP. There's nothing stopping people with ordinary keyboards assigning a macro hotkey that triggers F1-F8, either, if they so wish. Limited use of macros like that is generally ok. --- Can't afford that BPO? Look here. 20:1 mineral compression The EVE f@h team |
