After looking through Evemon exhaustively, I've come to the conclusion that the Polaris skill is the most zomgoverpowered skill in all of Eve.
How so?
Well.. first, take a look at its prereqs. That's right - Polaris requires *itself* at level 5, thus ensuring that even if a skillbook somehow accidentally made its way into the game nobody could use it. The only way you can get this skill is to have it manually added to your character sheet.
Second, take a look at what it enables! Polaris is a prereq for all matter of goodly skills, such as...
Concord - Who wouldn't want to be able to fly a Concord ship?
Omnipotent - No idea what it does but it sounds pretty serious.
Tournament Observation - Well, OK, but still, more is better.
TEST TRADE SKILL - Anything labeled "Test" is sure to be amazingly overpowered.

I disagree, Caldari Cruiser V lets you train for a falcon. Clearly more overpowered.

I wonder if a Falcon could perma jam a Polaris frig (are they ewar immune? never checked).

I do believe it's an attribute on the ship itself, but not in the flavour text. Besides, if all else fails there's /tr.

Polaris ships have a listed sensor strength of 99 across all four sensor types, but I wouldn't be surprised if in actuality it was >9000. I'd give a linky, but my search fu is weak tonight.

You're right. After reading this thread it's very obvious Caldari Cruiser V is the most ridiculously overpowered skill in the game.

Does that matter ? A Falcon can even perma jam a carrier with 600 + strength so why not a a frig with >9000 ?

Have no worries, the Motherships which are EWAR immune actually arent immune anymore, so I'm sure neither are these

The only way to hurt a polaris ship is smart bombs altho you can bounce em pretty far.
Don't know if you can even get a GM killmail in one.
odds on you wouldn't be popular for killing a sleeping GM.

drone interfacing.
at level 5 its a 100% boost to your drone damage which compared to other weapon systems' skills, is crazy.

Some where on the forums I read that a pair of GM's tested a Doomsday against a Polaris.
It managed to deal something like 8 damage because of the insane resistances on the Polaris.
Given the efftective hit points and shield recharge recharge rate, I expect that the required Titan blob would nuke itself before it could fire off enough Doomsdays in a short enought time frame to kill a Polaris.

> means "Greater Than" or "Over"
< means "Less Than" or "Under"
There is no way you can make the assertion that because a Falcon can jam a ship with a sensor strength of 600, means it can jam a devhax ship with over 9000 sensor strength.
...unless you were joking, then I didn't really think it was that funny.

Personally I think the best skill I have trained is 'Jovian Rigging' lvl 1. This skill has made me uberpwnsauce. I suggest that everyone trains it... if they can find it! mwahahaha
