Quote: 10.4 What prevents volunteers from gaining an unfair advantage over other players?
Volunteers have little or no in-game abilities. They do not have access to the account information of players nor do they have the ability to create high-end items in the game. They do not receive special items or equipment for their play characters. Their actions are closely monitored and they are not privy to information that is highly confidential.
So the fat ass polaris ships dont count?
just wondered.

the polaris characters can't DO anything with their polaris ships BUT help players, so don't look for imbalance where there isn'nt. ------------------- :: finite horizon :: killboard ::

lol, I managed to get info on a polaris frigate once a bit back when it showed up in a n00b system, Unfortunally I formated and lost the images, but simply put - the ship is useless. It has 0 cargo, and 0 slots. Thats right - it can't fit anything and it can't move anything.
besides, as it was pointed out they get nothing for their *play* characters.

ISD volunteers do not have any benefits given to their play characters or accounts, nor tools that give them the ability to create or spawn items within the game. Currently, the tools that can create or spawn items in-game are in the hands of the Dev Team and the GMs. CCP does comp the monthly cost of a single play account in return for the time a volunteer puts into the program.
There are 3 Polaris frigates. As stated in a few other replies, the Inspector and Centurion frigates have 0/0/0 slots, 0 turrets and 0 hold. These two frigates are issued to ISD vols and Captains/assistant leads. The third Polaris frigate is a bit more advanced and issued to the team leads. None of these ships are available to players and even require a special skill to pilot them.

The skill is in-game, just not available on the market. I would guess it would be available about the same time that the Polaris frigates are available. Somewhere around the introduction of tech level 50 items. Just not gonna happen. Besides, the ISD staff do need to have something cool of their own.

I think, if i remeber correctly, that a CA fleet, in the old days when there whre JIPS by planets, killed a polaris frigate, while it was inspecting dronelag So Say I. Einheriar Ulrich of the Bloodline of Einheriar.
