Let's say you get lucky and target it before it jams you. Send your drones after it, you get jammed, it runs away. Interceptors could possibly close the 200km to it, but it could just permajam the 'ceptor or run away before it got there. The only way I could see a Falcon being killed is if it's being engaged by more targets than it can jam, and a Falcon pilot would have to be pretty damn stupid to let 5 ships slowboat 200km towards it and not cloak or warp away or both.

How about a Rokh, 3 ECCMs, sensor boosters, and 425mm rails?
How about a pilgrim sneaking up on it, fitted with ECCM's?
How about letting a cov ops make a warp in and warp in a dictor to hold it in place and let drones do their work? Parrots, commence!

Your fleet is always supposed to have 3 or 4 dedicated snipers in tow just for this purpose.

So, you're saying a long range ship with a prepared position is hard to engage?

It's not like people have been doing snipers since EVE started, right?
More constructively though: Cerberus, Eagle, Raven, Rokh and every stealth bomber can fire on an ECM boat at extreme range, and force it to leave the field. Without significant fitting modification. (e.g. might require a sensor booster, but not the usual multiple tracking mods, multiple sensor boosters for a sniper).
Or of course, a fast moving drone boat - close up with drones out, and the drones will auto aggress when the falcon tries to jam you.
Or just set your own ewar support deal with their ewar support. I mean, you did bring ewar support with your gang, right? Cuz the other guys did. -- 249km locking? |

You don't need to kill a falcon to remove it from the field. Scare him off is enough. Or just disable him. Recons themselves have a high sensor strength so fielding a rook with an eccm module is an option as the falcon will have to equip a sb to cover that range so both will have the same amount of jammers and strength, but the odds are in the favor of the rook (already higher base sensor strength+eccm).
But if you really want to kill that falcon and dont want to bring enough snipers to instapop it you can approach under cloak with a SB and cruise F.o.F.s and keep bumping or damp and scram it with a gallente recon (fit one eccm) (also approached under cloak until in optimal of dampners).

I always thought a tachyon abbadon is a viable addition to any highsec/lowsec fleet.
The tachs dont track very well close up, but as long you are not solo, that doesent matter, having one ship with eccm/sensor boosters instead of tackle wont hurt the fleet much overall, and he can ask the falcon to leave nicely when the shooting starts.
Most falcons obey, others get to be salvage materials.
And a tachs don't loose dps over their close counterparts, they can actually help out in a slugging match aswell, vs other bs, or instapop webbed cruisers.

How about a scenario where the falcon is not always at 200+km away, aligned and up to speed.....as apparently ppl seem to think this is the best way to fight a falcon .............it is, at least from the falcon pilots perspective anyway.

The easiest ways to kill a falcon;
In 0.0; intelligent use of dictors and bubbles.
In lowsec; bring an inty along with you for scouting/belt/flashy tackles. If you engage a gang on a gate or station the falcon will have to be further away than 150km from said object unless it's opponents are flashy. Get the inty to burn best speed for the falcon, this will either get it to warp off or cloak. The inty then stays in that area waiting for falcons return.
Inty can still be on the killmail by firing a gun when greater than 150km as it wont be agro'd by sentries and it will be in a perfect position if the falcon warps back to the same spot. Even if it gets jammed it now provides a warp in for an ECCM'd falcon killer. You don't need a point on a falcon to stop it warping away...
In highsec; same tactics as lowsec but easier as presumably you will at war with the target.

Interceptor.
Assign drones to protect interceptor.
Interceptor either gets a lock or the drones do when the falcon jams it. Now it can't cloak and dies to the drones or warps off.

I like this idea, and since falcon's have no tank to speak of one or two stiletto's will be able to take it down as well. -

Tracking (range), Passive Targeter <-- this is veeeery important. Anybody else w/ Remote sensor booster & Remote ECCM.
If you're lucky the Falcon is busy jamming your fleet. Vargur locks = Falcon runs away quickly or 9 seconds later it dies, that simple. The same can be done with a Tempest, cheaper but slightly less Alpha.
There are many ways to skin a falcon, just use your imagination. You know the enemy fleet will likely have one (or BB/Rook/Scorp), so set up for it.

amongst the many godd and varied suggestions here i'd like to add a flycatcher with FoF's.
As long as a Cov-ops or fast inty can you a close warp in then bubble and web him, when he jams you to break the web, FoF him.
