Ok i hate the fact that when i do come to high sec to mission run i have to watch some guy come in and take what does not belong to him and i cannot pop him for it. So what about making it so that salvaging someones wrecks makes them go blinky? And i know we all like a clean space so maybe put a timer on the wreck so that if said mission runner doesnt salvage it within say 20 mins or something that then it is a free for all, And it is open to all to salvage. In short figure out a way so that when someone jacks my salvage i can pop em. Not talking about private mission space or any of those crazy ideas that take PVP outta the mix, but someway to make ppl go criminal for stealing. Why this hasnt been done yet i have no idea. But i do know i hate running missions so when i do have to, id like to know i can get the most of it so that it may be that much longer before i have to return to missions. CCP please make all theft punishable somehow.....

Or, you could just shoot your wrecks so the ninja doesn't get it, cause frankly, you're too lazy to do it yourself.
If you were really trying you'd use a marauder and salvage with an alt as you kill things, so there are a most 2-3 wrecks at a time... and remember, the ninjas can't tractor your stuff, giving you a big advantage too...
This thread is basically another whine. "I'm too slow to get my salvage and someone came and stole it and I was all mad because they stole from me and I don't wanna suicide gank them quickly cause my 5.0 sec is worth too much"
boohoo. go pvp some more. |

Umm not a mission runner full time, so yeah dont want to put that much time into it. And on top of that why should i have to have 2 accts to do something i can do solo if all thieves were able to be shot? I dont want to mission run full time i want to pvp. But when im broke i run missions and when i do have to run missions i want as much isk out of it as possible. PPL dont come into my missions and take my loots they just steal what they know i cant do anything about. So gimme best of both worlds let me do my missions and when some jag off comes and steals me stuff, let me pop em.

funny how CCP stated clrealy that the loot is your's but wrecks are first come first serve and yet after a clear statement that it's working as intended it's your wrecks...

Quote: Greetings,
This is caution for all players currently engaged in mission running activities. The wreck ownership mechanism has recently been changed, and as such will not belong to the character doing most damage to the NPC anymore, but to the pilot who first accepted the mission.
The EVE Online Customer Support Team advises extra wariness when doing missions in a fleet with members, as doing any kind of damage to a wreck not belonging to your corporation will result in CONCORD intervention. Since this remains within normal game-play, Game Masters will remain of little assistance regarding vessels lost in such a fashion.
Also, this change has nothing to do with salvaging rights themselves as they remain untouched. Players are still completely free to salvage other pilot wrecks at will, no matter if they belong to the same corporation or not and doing so is not considered as an exploit.
Many thanks for your understanding,
Best regards, Senior GM Ytterbium EVE Customer Support Team
Shut up and take it like a man.

Its all part of the can-flippers way of life. They are too lazy to hunt their own mission and prey on others hoping to be shot at. Many missions if running solo you basically run the mission, dock, go back with another salvage ship. But with can flippers you can't do that as there wont be loot by the time you get your salvage ship there.
Why can't can flippers become global for there aggression? If you shoot them and die as a result, why can't you at least get kill rights on these scumbags? They made the first act of agression by stealing etc. If they can't dock their interceptor for a battleship it would help the mission runner who currently gets ambushed. If they couldn't dock their pod for 15 min it wouldn't hurt either for those mission runners that catch the scumbag thieves and destroy the ship. Shooting a thief should be considered defending ones self. At least make it this way for high-sec where concord flies. Low sec has its own rules, but thieving in high sec should do something to balance the current imbalance towards thieves.
Currently its up to the pilots to find places with less can flippers, as the balance is swung currently in favour of these scumbags. High sec isn't really that safe to mission in with scumbags. Take a good mission which drops 20-30 mil in loot/salv, add a scumbag and they can easily suck 10 mil worth up.
If you kill a nice overseer and have a can flipper appear you can lose 30+ mil on a single wreck. If your at range to kill the overseer, need to fly to wreck, it all takes time where an interceptor will always win the race.

Look for those with the negative remarks, u can lick my *********.
I dont give two cents about can flippers, tbh i respect them more than the ninja salvagers. Can flippers do what they do for one reason, a fight. So you can make the choice (after checking local and seeing the famous 1vs1) if u wanna pvp or not. but the ninja salvagers in noob corps who scan out your mission and just come in salvage and then leave with no repercussions is BS.
Almost everywhere in EvE there are consequences to anything you do whether it be good or bad, Id just like the opportunity to engage the salvage guys as i have with the can flippers. It just gives us one more way for krap highsec pvp.
Guess im gonna fit up some suicide ships and just watch for them when im really bored, Or hope that one day i get one whos actually in a corp so i could atleast dec em and Hope they fit salvage tackle....

I have no problem with ninja salvagers.
One of the reasons this idea was introduced iirc, was to reduce the amount of wrecks in space and therefore helping to reduce lag.
I do think however they have it too easy and i think there should be something introduced to ensure if they start to take wrecks, they have to take em all.
i.e. something like u cannot salvage another persons wreck unless it is empty and on top of that u have to start with frigs and work up, u just cant pick the good bs wrecks and leggit. which leaves loads of wrecks still floating in space.
Im sure peeps may have a better idea. Red

heres an idea: mission for an agent with two less quality, away from a major mission hub.
hey presto: no ninja-salvagers!
i have never seen a ninja salvager in my whole time playing eve, and i have never missioned at a mission hub. perhaps there is a correlation? - PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for *them*, that all went out the window? |

Personally, I think it's one of the few ways to balance the reward from high sec.
I know why it is the way it is, but It bothers me that the Rewards gained in highsec are not inline with the risk taken.
You have High quality level IV agents in high sec, under the domain of concord, and if you do it in an NPC corp, you can't be wardec'd.
Absurd isk making without any threats. Except from suicide Gankers, which recently got a nerf. BOOO.
Where as in Low Sec or 0.0, sure you get more mission rewards, but you're constantly under threat, and constantly at risk. So much that the vast majority of mission runners and miners do not even sniff low sec.
Having someone come in an salvage the wreck makes it less rewarding than it is, which is a bonus to Isk balance, even if it is small.
If you don't like someone ninja salvaging, do something about it. Move to another hub, Suicide gank them if you can, war dec their corp if they aren't NPC corpies, move to low sec so you can pop them when they try.

Edited by: Astria Tiphareth on 04/12/2008 12:00:28 Do I just get incredibly lucky? I've run missions all over the place for the last year or more and not once even had a sniff of a ninja salvager... yet (as it's bound to happen now that I've said this).
Alternatively, the people complaining are the ones permanently farming the highest quality agent over and over in mission hubs, and thus get exactly what I'd expect. ___ My views may not represent those of my corporation, which is why I never get invited to those diplomatic parties...
