Hello
I would like some information on what the positives and negatives are of doing missions with two Characters. I'm a Caldari and I have another account with a Gallente both about the same skill level and I would like to start doing missions with them both. My questions are what are the ups and down of using these two different faction. IĈm Aiming to get high level mission for my Caldari, one Benefit I can see is two head are better than one. Just wondering on the negatives which might appear do things this way. If I do Caldari navy missions or other Caldari side missions with my Caldari would my Gallente guy low standing or anything else bad if he tags along? Is there any mission I could do which would not have a negative effect on my Caldari/Gallente?
Thanks

You have to pick high standings with one faction, or you have to pick mediocre standings with both.
There is no reason that a Gallente character cannot help a Caldari character complete missions by just tagging along and helping kill non-Empire faction NPCs. You probably will want to avoid missions against the Gallente and Minmatar factions, which there are quite a few of these days. ------------ Improvize. Adapt. Overcome. |

Epic benefit: train the Gallente character to fly a dominix, use sentry drones, and use remote shield transfers. Fit two sentry damage augmentors on the dominix, and have it remotely shield transfer to your Caldari boat while it deals DPS with its sentries in assist mode. Enjoy your epic tank and gank.

You've nailed it. I run two characters for missions....one in a Raven with an Active shield tank and the second in a Domi with an active armour tank + remote shield reps and some shield drones in the bay.
Raven goes in and starts tanking the damage on it's own - domi arrives and starts repping the Raven, deploys sentries and starts belting out the DPS. If it gets too hairy for the Raven it can turn it's own shield booster on and off as required, but generally it's not required - which is good because it's not cap stable. The medium shield drones are held in reserve. Drone load is 5 each of Warden II, Ogre II, Hammerhead II, Hobgoblin II and Med Shield Repair. Add on 4x Dual 250mm rails for some extra DPS and a drone link aug for some extra range.
The other thing I'd suggest is that both characters are in the same corp or you DON'T turn off the warning about committing a criminal act - it is entirely possible to accidentally shoot your fleet mate as the Domi has the Raven targetted permanently. You don't need CONCORD getting involved in a friendly fire incident as they don't ask questions.
As to faction - you need to make a choice. Gallente and Caldari are not friends. You can choose Gallente + Minmatar or Caldari + Amarr. I chose Caldari, because it's closer to my main's corporation HQ (although my main has good standing with Gallente - he no longer does missions).
Edit: if the domi starts taking damage, then the remote rep can be turned off to allow the domi's active tank to run. The Raven can survive quite a while on it's own tank - especially if it's not taking all the aggro. Selectively killing the rats targetting one or the other allows me to get back to a stable situation with either the domi or the raven tanking all the damage. |

Assuming you do that, is it more efficient to just run missions for the LP/bounty alone and skip the salvage/loot. Or is it still worth looting/salvaging?

I can be back with 2 salvagers (catalysts) to make short work of the salvaging and looting. I make rigs, so the salvage is valuable to me......and the loot well it's either valuable as loot (there's a lot of loot worth around a million per item) or as minerals. So yes I loot and salvage almost everything. ______________________ Isn't it time you learned to fight back? Agony Unleashed Home of the PvP University.

Thank you all for the replies.
Looks like I'll be doing Caldari missions.
