Of course by the time I'm finished training for this ship, things will most likely have changed, but I'm bored and decided to play in EFT a little. This setup should be able to orbit any sub-BS target at 15km without being targeted and scramble from up to 16.2km away with Recon Ships IV. It does just over 210 dps, nothing to brag about but not completely useless.

That's a surprising amount of dps (to me), makes me want it, I have no missile skills currently. . . curious how much training I'd need to be solid.

I was using my skill set with the DPS, and I have practically zero missile skills. Will all skills V it gets just under 270 dps. ===== * Your signature file is broken. Please use an image that will display - Fallout

Hm, next worry would then be if a cheaper ship could do a similar job. I'd be afraid of flying out in a recon without a cloaking device.

I guess you could try it in a Celestis...
With my skills, 170 dps and 18km optimal. Should be able to dampen most targets to around 15-20km max lock. The scram range bonus is what really makes the Lachesis imo, this setup would have a lot of trouble keeping range.

Erm, how does that work exactly? You can't fight past ~8km reliably even with T2 guns and ammo, and you can't dampen anyone that low. And if you just plan on picking them off with your subpar DPS before they can lock on, sounds interesting, but does it work? It should take another cruiser like 30 seconds to lock you with lock time scripts. ===== * Your signature file is broken. Please use an image that will display - Fallout

Edited by: Prometheus Exenthal on 01/12/2008 02:10:40 This is the setup I'm training towards. Designed for solo work, mainly belt piracy. 401(448) EFT DPS, will damp most things below 18km (scram range), and is cap stable with the MWD off. May swap the ECCM for an injector, but there are alot of Falcon***s around, and I'm going to abuse my high sensor strength. Still a paper tiger though

Bay Loading Accelerator I Warhead Calefaction Catalyst I
Hammerhead II x4
Almost 1400m/sec, cap stable with everything running + injector and 800s. I know the 150s look a little weird, but the main DPS is from the launchers. Only does 306 DPS, but with the tunable launcher damage type it is very effective.
Faction web and scram can keep a target at distance pretty much indefinitely. 3x damps will drop most smaller ships down to less than 12-13km lock range easily, and larger targets down below 20km. The web is there for any afterburner users, or if they're trying to get back to the gate.
Plate, rep and explosive hardener are actually practical to use in conjunction with the cap booster. This is very handy when you get drone aggro, so you don't have to bug out right away.
Setup is pretty lethal to any smallish solo ship. Particularly if they're off of a gate/station.

15km is the base range of the web I believe, unless you meant the scram since that's what the Arazu gets a bonus for, which would be 19.8km with Recon Ships IV. ===== * Your signature file is broken. Please use an image that will display - Fallout

hmm.... might be interesting.... the web range would be enuff, but it would kinda depend on who's cap charges lasted i think.... my pilgrim uses an AB btw. ---------------------------------------------

WAITAMINUTE. What if... Scan Res scripts + ECM drones? Gimp your dps, but 4 Vespa EC-600's should have around a ~30%-40% jam chance on a Cruiser I think, and every time your target gets jammed he has to wait 30 seconds before he can lock you again. ===== * Your signature file is broken. Tested this out against a HAC (Deimos) in EFT. Gets around 210 DPS. Would take the Deimos ~25 seconds to lock you, and you have a ~50% jam chance on him.

The multispec adds around 12% jam chance. Dunno what else to put there, a 4th Dampener is practically useless due to stacking nerfs and it's cap stable without boosters so no need for those. ===== * Your signature file is broken. Please use an image that will display - Fallout

Some quick answers:
Faction web goes for about 65-70m for a cheap one, there's a TON on the market right now. Faction 2pt scram goes for about 40-50m depending.
IMO the faction items are *critical* to it's success simply due to the HORRIBLE PERFORMANCE of damps. If they didn't suck ass, you could use regular T2 and just get closer, but damps are sh#t so you have to absolutely max your setup in order for it to even have a chance of working.
The setup is waaay cap stable, running everything. The web is only there to keep people from ABing back to the gate. Otherwise you'll very easily be able to dictate range with your MWD, and their MWD will be dead if they're running one, and an AB won't be enough to catch you regardless. Additionally, you'll be able to web them much further out than they will be able to web you (probably), so it's an added measure of safety.
Again, this is good for killing solo targets. Multiple targets and you're totally screwed.
Range on scram is 22km w/o overheat, something like 24km with overheat. Web is like 15km/18.9km respectively. You could switch to a Gallente Navy web, for more strength (lol?) and less cost, but with damps being as horrible as they are, you may need that one extra Km to keep out of lock range. You never know.
