Yatta I Defiance Brigade	Posted - 2008.12.01 18:19:00 - [1] so my main is a pirate... but i use this alt to make money and haul stuff so i can afford my losses in combat. since the trips i do are usually quite lengthy, so i would set AP from jita and go to class. i know... mistakes are bolded, and needless to say, i made my first lesson for evoking a carebear mistake: 500M loss and 2-300M in drops this confirms for myself that suicide ganking is still viable... so maybe you will start seeing my main in a 0.5 system near you =p (once i get my sec up, that is...) oh btw, congrats to the killer: Grumber1 and also... Don't claim through your inabilities that something is impossible. I have been a pirate for some time now and living off of just the isk I have earned as a pirate. I don't fly faction ships or anything, but use plenty of BS and T2 ships with T2 fittings. If you do it right without taking unnecessary risks it is certainly possible to make a living as a pirate as part of a good corp. - Neo-Spartans Recruiting

Been a pirate for only ~6 months and making a decent profit out of this with minimal ship loss. The key is to keep ship loss minimal and profit high, also known as use strategy/tactic or "use your brains"...

I had been running 4 research agents and had got all the datacores awarded since they went down that route. My husband had said I should collect them and sell them so I did about an 80 jump round trip all through "safe" space visiting and getting all my datacores. He had warned me that high sec ganking was rife and not to afk with any cargo of value but being the innocent that I am I hadnt realised the value of the datacores. I was nearly home when it was time to serve up the sunday dinner so shoved autopilot on whilst I served up only to come back to find myself in a pod. Not complaining, its the game and was my own stupid fault but when he told me the value of all I had lost I was really upset (with myself). It was the same pilot as you (Grumbert1). Today hubby showed me where the kill mails are now and it finally gave me something to smile about. Every single one of the datacores were destroyed and for all his pains in his Mega all he got from me was.....a medium shield extender 1!!!!

Amber Saint Genos Occidere Heretic Nation	Posted - 2008.12.02 14:51:00 - [22] How to be a profitable pirate or how to not to be one, it depends entirely on your play style and experience It's usually down to how much risk you take, if you don't take any risks, you will all ways end in the +, but if you want to take risks, a lot of the time you won't make isk from it unless you have luck/falcon alt/scout alt or whatever I used to pirate for isk, but to be honest I got tired of this style of pvp, I'd rather leeroy and die every day, it's a great way to play the game if you have a good source of income It's down to how you like to pvp, and how good you are at making isk without having to pvp (like scamming), if you enjoy gate camping then that's great, your wallet should all ways be in the +, but for the rest of us, we pvp for the pvp, but I guess that doesn't make me a pirate anymore?
