I don't have much time to play so I was wondering how much more profitable mining jaspet was over say veld or plag in hi sec? And how much I could expect to make per hour using a covetor/hulk.

Stay away from Jaspet, even Pyroxeres is more worth.

So then plag then? Last I remember plag was the most profitable ore in high sec, unless its veld now?

Plagioclase/Kernite and Veldspar are the most profitable.
I think that will not change that soon.

Well considering kernite is sucked up by macros as soon as it appears, that's out of the picture. So plag it is I suppose.
Thank you!

Linkage
That right there will help u decide what to mine, it's generated from the average of eve-central market data, so it's a pretty good source of inspiration for a miner who doesn't strip entire belts, like.... some people....

Here's the ore chart that I used to figure out what I should be mining (I have nothing to do with the folks that made it, I just found it through google.) http://eve.grismar.net/ore/
When I ran the numbers for my region Veldspar showed up as the best (most profitable per cubic meter) hi-sec ore to mine by a fair margin. Plugging in numbers from the linked Eve Central Market buy orders in Jita shows (isk/cubic meter): Veldspar 117.72 Scordite 102.02 Pyroxeres 79.60 Plagioclase 86.52 Omber 71.49 Kernite 97.71 Jaspet 62.35 (hisec gravimetric, iirc) Hemorphite 83.24 (hisec gravimetric) Hedbergite 105.06 (hisec gravimetric)
The only advantage of hi-sec gravimetric exploration is that you're far less likely to have your cans flipped or otherwise be griefed as it's more hassle to find you. The disadvantages are the ridiculous time and skills investment plus the hundreds of thousands (millions?) of isk in probes per site.
Which was very sad as I'd spent the last couple of days mining a large gravimetric site full of jaspet, kernite and omber. Btw, I'm sure I've seen belts full of Kernite in hi-sec in my wanderings.

Thanks a lot guys. Now to decide whether to just sell ore or build things too( if nothing than because its something to do).

The only reason to mine Jaspet is if you need nocxium and don't feel like buying it. Frankly, unless you some safe low-sec systems to mine in (if any low-sec can truly be considered safe, and it's only naturally found in .4 and below) or are an explorer who seeks out gravimetric sites, it's not worth it. It's the absolute least valuable ore at current mineral prices. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

If you want to mine in low-sec...Make it worth it.
Find a nice Grav site and you'll make cash

Actually, the only circumstances you should mine Jaspet is if there is nothing else you can mine... if you want nox, mine veldspar, sell it, and buy the nox, you... that is the economically rational thing to do, same for any highsec mineral, mine veld, and buy it... ç¦ |
