Might want to mention how long you've been away I guess... =)
There are t2 ships now, they go really fast and are called interceptors! And torps no longer do Area of Effect damage... =( Parrots, commence!

There's rigs now. They're expensive as **** and are sure to have you farming doubletime to fund a single PVP loss.
There's overheating now. Another ****ing money sink for PVPers. (Train Thermodynamics to 4 ASAP.)
Battleships are sluggier than ever before, and just because blasters have king-**** raw DPS doesn't mean they're that good.
Amarr doesn't suck anymore. In fact, they rock.
Cruisers still can warp before an interceptor can lock it. (I exaggerate, but only slightly.)

6 months?
Let's see...there's a new sub-capital ship called the Orca that tries to bridge the gap between Industral Ships and Freighters. It even has a Ship Maintenance Bay and can travel in Hi-Sec.
Some progress has been made in battling lag. You can hang around in Jita all day and barely notice anything wrong.
You can now create and award yourself decorations.
There's a Certificate system in the game. Think Achievements on the X-Box 360 console, but only in relations to skills.
A fix intended to nerf Nanoships ended up nerfing almost every ship in the game in regards to speed. Battleships were hit the most. It takes real effort to get over 8000m/s now, if it's possible at all.
Missiles also took a swing from the nerfbat. They are not as good as they were, but still a viable choice.
The next big expansion will be out in March 2009 and will introduce Tech 3 ships. These will be modular, allowing you a great deal of versatility in your ship designs.
It's harder to pull off suicide ganks and the punishment is somewhat heavier, but they still happen.
Ghost Training was nerfed into oblivion. |

In the same breath it should be mentioned that frigates are much more fun now and actually got a bit of a boost.
MWD's can now be disabled if you are hit by 2 point scrambler. Also, the old 7.5km scramblers were buffed and the T2 version now has 9km range.
Disruptors (1 points) do not disable MWD's.
ALL stasis webifiers have been nerfed and now do max -60% to velocity as opposed to -90% as before. This is in part why frigates now are alot better and more fun since you can still fly "under the guns" even if webbed.
Furthermore, drones were a bit nerfed as well, and the medium drones now have bigger problems hitting small ships such as frigates. Again, this helps improve the frigates. -------------------------------------------------- "Every complex problem has a solution which is easy, neat and wrong!" |
