Hello one and all, At present i run lvl 4's solo in a geddon (show below), then dock up get into a destroyer and loot everything
[Armageddon, NPC] Large Armor Repairer II Large Armor Repairer II Shadow Serpentis Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Capacitor Power Relay II Capacitor Power Relay II Heat Sink II
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II

Capacitor Control Circuit I Capacitor Control Circuit I Capacitor Control Circuit I
Hobgoblin I x5 Ogre I x4
I change the hardners depending on the mission, it has 629 dps with drones and can tank a fair amount.
I was thinking of upgrading this ship for soemthing to make missions run faster and i would like your comment's please. I have heard good things about the pigrim and the abaddon and was wondering which you would go for and is the pilgrim worth the investment for the step up?
Thanks for your replies

And same for absolution is it better than the geddon or even the Paladin?
Or would it be best to only use the absolution on certain situations.
Setups would be much appreciated also please
Once again thank you

My Amarr character used to run a Geddon. I used a single LAR tank with pulse lasers and did pretty well. Now he runs a Paladin. It is much, much better. I am killing Blood Raider BCs in one volley with my Tachyons. I think it is well worth the extra ISK.
Just my two cents on your fitting, you shouldn't need a dual LAR tank. My Paladin works fine for every mission I have encountered with 1x LAR II (or Amarr Navy, which you need to use to fit Tech II Tachyons). You also want at least two Heat Sink IIs on any mission BS. ------------ Improvize. Adapt. Overcome. |

Hello mate, thanks for the info. Could you post yor pulse geddon setup? i have an idea but its not cap stable if you run the afterburner all the time.
I am thinking of buying a paladin but i need to save up the iskies for it (half way there) No one use an absolution?

I don't have EFT here at work, but I remember that my Pulse Geddon setup was not cap stable. I mostly used it for supplemental DPS to a second ship. My Paladin is cap stable and therefore a much easier ship to use for soloing Level 4s.
I don't use an Absolution - the reason being that medium guns don't do quite enough damage at around 40km - this makes them inferior for Level 4 missions when compared with BS class weapons. ------------ Improvize. Adapt. Overcome. |

"if you run the afterburner all the time."
Running Level III's by orbiting with AB on is a viable tactic, but in Level IV's your BS should be able to tank the damage without needing the AB. It is not going to increase your speed enough to make any real difference, so save your cap and leave it off.
Or for that matter, leave it in your hangar and fit a tracking computer, TP, or somesuch....

The paladin will make the isk spent to buy it very quickly. Absolution can be fun to run level fours, but it is to level threes as the Paladin is to level fours in terms of speed.

my paladin is very not cap stable, it can run the guns, or the tank (or both for about 5 mins) luckily that is all I need

Edited by: Synergy Fkux on 05/12/2008 10:37:15 Thanks guys i went with: [Armageddon, NPC] Large Armor Repairer II [empty low slot] Heat Sink II [empty low slot] [empty low slot] Capacitor Power Relay II Capacitor Power Relay II Heat Sink II
100MN Afterburner II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II
Mega Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency L Mega Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency L E50 Prototype Energy Vampire
Capacitor Control Circuit I Capacitor Control Circuit I Capacitor Control Circuit I
Hobgoblin I x1 Ogre I x4
887 dps
Empty slots are for tank, i tried it out on a few missions last night. First off gotta love the tracking and extra dps from the pulse's Second i orbited at 15km with the ab on at around 330m/s and i have to say it does reduce the dps you take significantly the npc's never got me lower than 95% and i did 4 missions. next i am thinking of playing with 3 dmg mods
I am very impressed and thanks to everyone for helping
Mission succesful

I certainly don't intend to hijack the thread however the talk above got me thinking about the "ideal" mission ship progression.
I thought the concensus of the best ships to use progressed like this: Apoc -> Navy Apoc -> Paladin
Am I off here? Should the Geddon be thrown in?

with decent skills the geddon is a fine lvl 4 mission running ship, lots of nice gank and a big drone bay, u just need the skills and mission knowledge.
